Talk:Bangladesh Black Hat Hackers

Spurious citations of this group's "activities"

edit

There are some serious problems with the sources cited in this article.

  • The The Daily Janakantha reference cited in the lede doesn't mention hackers at all. It mentions the Bangladesh World Bank office, the Bangladesh Association of International Recruiting Agencies, and the Bangladesh Garment Manufacturing Exporters Association, but not the Bangladesh Black Hat Hackers. Searching the site for bangladesh hacker returns no results. Citation removed [1].
  • The "Video message of Bangladesh Black Hat Hackers for the Government of India" was taken down for "violating YouTube's policy on nudity or sexual content". An odd rationale for removing a call to war. (Perhaps the group are whackers, not hackers]].) Citation removed [2].
  • The Daily MuktoChetona claimed to have used a South African TimesLIVE article of 30 July 2013 for its 31 July 2013 report of Bangladash hackers attacking businesses in Pietermaritzburg and Johannesburg on July 28. Google finds no such article at TimesLIVE [3] nor any mention elsewhere of attacks against Pietermaritzburg [4] or Johannesburg [5] businesses. A spurious report that can't be confirmed; citation removed [6].
