Balapora is a village of district shopian and has a vast historical spring and was rulled by a king namey balaveer shah and hence the balapora name was give after the king,as mentioned spring namely heemal she was beauty queen daughter of balaveer shah ,she fall in love with nagaraj his springis situated in sofanaman right parallel to the heemal spring coming to the villege it is quite beautiful covered with apply chinar and walnut trees .the famous chinarin balapora is known by jasn-e-boon .where all the villagers doing some jashna (an act- or drama).that was folllowed by their ancistors and now some are following Most of Balapora land has been taken by army personnel (army camp). Comming to the islamic their was a precher namely gulsha-padsha and has died there itself .
