Which House is which - and is one under a housing estate? edit

Disclaimer: I've just been to Dundonald for the first time in over 40 years, and it was only when my mother queried Auchans that I started looking into this.

According to the OS map (available at http://www.multimap.com/s/A1vhvHWf) Old Auchans is in the woods, and to the southwest of Auchans. The article gives pictures, which seem to tie up with the ruins labelled "Auchans" (in gothic) on the OS map. This would suggest that the OS have mixed the two up. The article also states that Auchans House (new) "was demolished in 1970 and the site has since been developed as a housing estate on the edge of Dundonald." According to both the Google Earth images (date 1999) and the Bing/Multimap images (I have no date) there are substantial low-level remains of the second house in a clearing in the woods. These remains are _not_ under any housing estate. Could someone have a look?

Parkthorn House edit

I think that the ruin you are refering to is the old Parkthorn Farmhouse - the photograph was labelled incorrectly.Rosser Gruffydd 14:36, 30 April 2018 (UTC)
