Fair use rationale for Image:Arriva (logo).gif

edit

Image:Arriva (logo).gif is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in Wikipedia articles constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot 22:54, 31 May 2007 (UTC)Reply

TGM

How much of this has been replaced by Tellings Golden Miller? The Harlow routes definitely have Rojomoke (talk) 12:12, 24 April 2012 (UTC)Reply

Mixture of bad information

edit

This Wikipedia page annoys me so much. There is so much wrong with it, but it's going to take time to fix the inaccuracies. I'll go through it at some point, working for Arriva the Shires (ATS) allows me to fact check everything.

Generally, there is no such thing as 'Arriva East Herts & Essex' anymore. Also, ATS have never legally used the name 'Arriva the Shires and Essex' as per the O-license (operator license).

Harlow is technically caught up between TGM and Arriva Southern Counties. Ware is fully incorporated into ATS.

When I go through it, I'll beef up the fleet info as well. Although it's good to see the TfL stuff there, that has nothing to do with Arriva the Shires.

Shouldn't the article be renamed to "Arriva Herts & Essex"?

edit

Hi.

I think this article should be renamed "Arriva Herts & Essex" as Arriva normally don't use the name "Arriva Shires & Essex" anymore on most of their pages.

Please let me know on this message for further information.

Thanks -- Pedroperezhumberto (talk) 17:32, 2 August 2023 (UTC)Reply

I agreed and have just done it, but now I'm not so sure it was correct. Arrival Shires still exists so it would have been better to WP:SPLIT the article. Can you create a new Shires article as it is too difficult to do on mobile. --𝕁𝕄𝔽 (talk) 21:01, 3 August 2023 (UTC)Reply
Thanks very much. -- Pedroperezhumberto (talk) 09:24, 4 August 2023 (UTC)Reply
Most likely I could ask someone else to create the article as I am also not that good at writing articles up.
Thanks -- Pedroperezhumberto (talk) 09:25, 4 August 2023 (UTC)Reply
I honestly do not know how many routes Arriva The Shires operate. I am in the middle of creating the article, but I don't know how many routes Arriva The Shires operate.
JMF do you know how many routes Arriva Shires operate?
Thanks -- Pedroperezhumberto (talk) 10:37, 4 August 2023 (UTC)Reply
I give up. I honestly can't create the article as it is so difficult for me to do.
Can you ask someone else to create the article please?
Thanks -- Pedroperezhumberto (talk) 10:47, 4 August 2023 (UTC)Reply
@Davey2010 and Ajf773:, can you resolve? This is well out of my experience. 𝕁𝕄𝔽 (talk) 17:50, 4 August 2023 (UTC)Reply
Hi @JMF, Excuse the language but Arriva's 2015-2017(?) subdivision name changes have been one big clusterfuck and nothing short of illogical and pointless but then again It's Arriva so we should expect nothing less!
Anyway I personally think we should follow the locations on their official websites (so Arriva Beds and Bucks, Herts and Essex, Kent and Surrey, Midlands, North East, North West, Wales, Yorkshire)
I support the recent move which better reflects their operations and given Arriva no longer go by "Shires and Essex" it kinda makes sense. –Davey2010Talk 19:30, 4 August 2023 (UTC)Reply
So are you saying that there is no such new division as Shires?
Maybe a better solution would be to have just one article for Arriva, with sections as appropriate for whatever is this week's boardroom "new broom" deckchair shuffling. How does each division even deserve its own article? 𝕁𝕄𝔽 (talk) 20:11, 4 August 2023 (UTC)Reply
Hi @JMF, My apologies, Given Shires is no longer in the name I therefore assumed they no longer operated there, But see this is exactly what I mean - On their website it's "Herts and Essex" yet the legal lettering on their buses in Luton (Shires area) is "Arriva The Shires Limited"[1],
I absolutely agree and thought this should have happened a long time ago, But I don't know if we may need to do an RFC first as some bus enthusiasts may disagree ? Thanks, –Davey2010Talk 22:28, 4 August 2023 (UTC)Reply
