Tyne and Wear

edit

Tyne and Wear never had a coat of arms, unfortunately.

I think most of these images are of dubious copyright and will have to be deleted, wont they? Lozleader 21:31, 16 January 2006 (UTC)Reply

Devon

edit

I am reverting as although Devon county council might be using a logo instead of their coat of arms they have not "abolished" them. They still own the arms whether they use them or not: a lot of councils now reserve their armorial bearings for ceremonial purposes only, and they hardly ever see the light of day. They still exist, nevertheless, and a future administration could give them more prominence if they wish. Lozleader 01:25, 26 November 2006 (UTC)Reply

Incidentally, you can see both the logo and the coat of arms on this page [1] of the council's site Lozleader 01:30, 26 November 2006 (UTC)Reply
according to the minutes of the council's Policy and Resources Overview Committee,[2] the coat of arms is still deemed "appropriate for various civic purposes" Lozleader 02:01, 26 November 2006 (UTC)Reply
OK. Sorry about that :-) -- Sakurambo 桜ん坊 11:40, 26 November 2006 (UTC)Reply
Not sure if the coat of arms/logo thing merits an article of its own, but it might make a section on Devon, seeing as we have ciatations and all. There's a bit about the flag, after all. Lozleader 13:22, 26 November 2006 (UTC)Reply

Dorset

edit

Dorset says "In use since 1974" rather than new arms or indicating a transfer of the 1950 arms. Any idea why? MRSC (talk) 15:50, 12 January 2014 (UTC)Reply

Lincolnshire

edit

It appears the only county that is missing is Lincolnshire. Is there an SVG version or [|is this JPEG version] the only one? I would make one myself but I have little experience in vector graphics.

The problem with the Lincolnshire coa is that it is licenced under a non-free usage rationale. Any use of this image outside the article mentioned in the file page, is therefore a copyright violation. Please read about non-free content at WP:NFC and WP:NFCC and about copyright in general at WP:COPY and WP:COPYVIO. --T*U (talk) 11:53, 27 June 2020 (UTC)Reply
