Talk:Anubis (Stargate)

Can someone tell me if Anubis has been confirmed as dead?

The beginning of this article seems to be trying to sum up Stargate SG-1 as a whole. Wouldn’t a link to the relevant article be sufficient? -Ahruman 15:10, 10 June 2006 (UTC)Reply

Anubis' Face

edit

Does anyone have a citation for the claim that the face Anubis has in the diner is of his host when he ascended? Konman72 04:57, 24 July 2006 (UTC)Reply

It has never been said. I'm removing it. MioTheGreat 21:57, 11 August 2006 (UTC)Reply

Thanks, I forgot about that. Konman72 22:04, 11 August 2006 (UTC)Reply

Half-Ascension

edit

I disagree with the Half-Ascencion section. In 'Threads', we learn that Anubis is an ascended being. We also learn that there are many planes of existance between the primary plane where Ascended beings live, and where we live. Anubis is a fully ascended being, but he can't affect anything on a 'grand' cosmic level, using his knowledge or power not because he lacks the ability, but because the others will stop him. It's the same as with Orlin. He was stuck living on Velona, a planet in our plane of existance...but He was never called 'half ascended', even though he too wasn't allowed to re-enter the really high planes.MioTheGreat 01:55, 15 August 2006 (UTC)Reply

Actually, he is referred to as "half-ascended" several times during the seventh and eight seasons. TheInnkeeper 02:38, 24 August 2006 (UTC)Reply

As he is an (almost) Ascended Being who can travel from host to host in pure spirit form, isn't he almost like a precursor to the Ori? --Codenamecuckoo 11:03, 25 August 2006 (UTC)Reply
Yes. he is refered to as 'half ascended' by the people at Stargate Command. But that was only based on what they knew, which was incredibly limitted, and only based on a 10 second observation of Daniel. We learned that Anubis HAS all of the ascended perks, he just can't use them for fear of reprisal by the Others in 'Threads'. MioTheGreat 01:51, 28 August 2006 (UTC)Reply

Anubis vs. Daniel

edit

The photo of the confrontation between Anubis and Daniel from the episode "Full Circle"'s title is misleading, as the information it provides is incorrect. The name of the pic is "Anubis_Defeats_Daniel", while in fact Anubis did nothing. It was Oma Desala who prevented Daniel from attacking Anubis and pulled him away, not Anubis. Anubis shortly afterward said so himself when a Jaffa praised him for his great power and Anubis immediately said it was not his doing.TheInnkeeper 02:42, 24 August 2006 (UTC)Reply

Anubis in the 1994 Stargate movie

edit

I was watching the original movie last night, and funnily enough it seems that in the credits Ra's main henchman (the guy with the overdone eye make up UNDER his eyes) was called Anubis. Obviously since he was never called this in the film itself, and because he had such a minor role anyway, it can be assumed that either the makers of SG-1 didn't know this when they used him as a new enemy, or didn't care, and ultimately it doesn't matter to me that much either, but if someone from the Stargate WikiProject wants to work that info into this article, or mention it on the Anubis disambiguation page I figured I'd bring it up because if this was a topic I knew everything about it's the kind of trivial point I'd love to get my hands on.
