Notability?

edit

Not clear why subject is notable and worthy of inclusion in own article. Please check WP:NOTE where it says "If a topic has received significant coverage in reliable sources that are independent of the subject, it is presumed to satisfy the inclusion criteria for a stand-alone article." I don't think a link to the University of Calabria is enough really to count as an independent source. All it does is prove that Berisha is employed there; that in itself is not sufficient to make him notable. Unless, of course, he is the Chancellor or Rector of the university. Notability is not because he is a professor, but for his work as a folklorist. There must be more data on his work on folklore. The fact that he teaches Albanian in Italy doesn't make him notable, his folklorist work does. See [[1]]. It's full of people. I'll ask Zjarri to update what Elsie says about him. The fact that he is already in Elsie's dictionary as a folklorist will help. --Sulmues Let's talk 12:33, 3 June 2010 (UTC)Reply

Someone will have to clearly demonstrate his notability in the field of folklore by showing that his works are extremely influential or indeed in someway seminal. We can't otherwise create articles on every academic or author. Contaldo80 (talk) 15:37, 3 June 2010 (UTC)Reply
