- Literally EVERY PERSON (Techie or NOT) I have told about this feature (particularly its being auto-enabled) on their Amazon devices... has opened up their APP and disabled the feature. While the intentions are good, there are major privacy / government tracking concerns that make this "feature" most-negatively-received, even among people whom might otherwise opt-in. - Balance for its own sake is not valued by Wikipedia. The article should reflect the sources. If the sources discuss a predominantly negative reception to Sidewalk, then the article should reflect that, and that appears to be the case.
what's its purpose?
editI read the whole article and it talks about Bluetooth, echos, dog collars, and iPhones but never says what Amazon Sidewalk's purpose is. I get that it's a thing Amazon made for devices to talk to one another, but what are they talking about and why do I care? Unless there's a benefit to me it's just to benefit and Amazon's business somehow. Jawz101 (talk) 17:56, 19 June 2021 (UTC)
- I'm guessing it's something to do with helping Amazon drivers deliver your packages and keep you up to date when on when they'll arrive at the next stop. Jawz101 (talk) 18:01, 19 June 2021 (UTC)
- It's purpose is to refer you to amazon. This service helps the people who made that possible get paid for referring customers. Through clicks, purchases, interactive context, etc. 24.19.141.129 (talk) 14:31, 13 May 2023 (UTC)
