The altar stone is now being said not to be from Wales but somewhere further afield, likely more northerly. High barium content and not a "match" (presumably mass spectrometer) with other bluestones nor Welsh red sandstones. Also I believe the picture used may be wrong, as a previous post in talk suggests. [Untitled] edit

Many years ago, circa late fifties, when serving with RA, friends and I passed Stonehenge many times and thought not very much about it. However the Altar stones were in place as they are today. I have now been informed that the Altar stones were placed in this position during the early fifties ?. Any info would be appreciated. thanks Des power.

Not a building edit
