This is helpful information, but it's not encyclopedic, IMHO. Where can it go?

Yes, this information would not be found in a general encyclopedia, but it would be found in a computer or audio equipment encyclopedia. Wikipedia is not a general encyclopedia - it is best thought of as a general encyclopedia combined with many specialty encyclopedias.

Actually, almost the whole article is a pure copy of the man page.

Information about different items you can edit with alsamixer

Some items in alsamixer are not self descriptive so i added list of items from playback/recording views, precise descriptions for all of them could be very useful information.

Sound card and driver used probably affect which items show up in alsamixer, but i am not sure about that.

Hopefully some alsa-developer adds more info.

alsamixer vs. AlsaMixer
