Mega-huh??!! edit

And they "exhibit non-radial pulsations"?? What? ... said: Rursus (mbork³) 11:45, 27 August 2009 (UTC)Reply

Luminosity edit

@Lithopsian:, @StringTheory11: Given these are some kickass big stars...is it worthwhile putting luminosity as a column on this table? Cas Liber (talk · contribs) 21:28, 3 August 2015 (UTC)Reply

Well they're all (more or less) supergiants. The luminosities don't cover a huge range though, although larger if you include some of the LBVs and hypergiants which can show a sort of exaggerated α Cyg variation. Lithopsian (talk) 22:27, 3 August 2015 (UTC)Reply

List edit

This reference has a list: http://cdsads.u-strasbg.fr/cgi-bin/nph-bib_query?1998A%26A...330..215W&db_key=AST&nosetcookie=1 Lithopsian (talk) 13:45, 14 August 2015 (UTC)Reply

NB: We can also go through the category at this time - need to investigate status of Delta Canis Majoris and Mu Normae among others.....Cas Liber (talk · contribs) 23:22, 15 August 2015 (UTC)Reply

Adjusted both articles to have referenced variable star status. Lithopsian (talk) 23:46, 15 August 2015 (UTC)Reply
begs the question what some of these things actually are...Cas Liber (talk · contribs) 14:02, 16 August 2015 (UTC)Reply
Personally, I think they're actually giant aliens shooting laser beams at us :) StringTheory11 (t • c) 16:11, 16 August 2015 (UTC)Reply
Zeta Puppis is listed as a suspected Alpha Cygni variable. It wouldn't be a typical one, but I added it to the category. Lithopsian (talk) 16:39, 16 August 2015 (UTC)Reply

Dubious periods edit

The period of bet Ori and eps Ori are identical in the table. This is either an amazing coincidence or a transcription error. Someone should check it. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 2600:1700:6AF0:C90:586E:2A2E:60DB:79C2 (talk) 17:24, 23 December 2021 (UTC)Reply

Only equal to four decimal places! I can't find supports for this period for either star in any of the given references, or anywhere else for that matter. I deleted them both. Lithopsian (talk) 19:22, 23 December 2021 (UTC)Reply
