Sermon? edit

Briefly: I think this article needs to be rewritten in a matter that describes the cause without actively promoting it. --Vince 00:15, 31 August 2006 (UTC)Reply

I agree. To put it in another way, it looks like this article was written by a member of the Allianc of Concerned Teachers (ACT). It may help if newspaper articles about the ACT would be cited here ---Tito Pao 12:23, 17 October 2006 (UTC)Reply

Clarification edit

I'd like to understand in what way this organization is "militant". The description does not sound particularly militant. From an international point of view it is also difficult to see how a political organization can be at the same time "progressive" and "nationalist" and "militant". It seems also that it encompasses a nationalist teacher organization (in most Western countries "nationalist" usually means conservative/right wing) and unionists (in most Western countries social democratic/left wing). This would require some clarification from a NEUTRAL side. ---Wassermensch 11:00, 30 Sept. 2010 (CET) —Preceding undated comment added 09:03, 30 September 2010 (UTC).Reply

Agreed. Also, the link to the official homepage is broken. Don't know if this is the official http://www.act-teachers.org  ? Swooch (talk) 11:56, 11 November 2010 (UTC)Reply

Differentiate between ACT and ACT Teachers edit

Hi, so I just want to make it clear that the Alliance of Concerned Teachers is a different entity from the Act Teachers Partylist.

Basically: ACT is a labor union of public and private school teachers and was founded in 1982 and is a member of the Bagong Alyansang Makabayan (BAYAN). Act-Teachers is a partylist founded in 2004 under the Makabayan bloc coalition that focuses on teachers' rights. The Act in Act-Teachers does not stand for anything and is purely for name recall purposes only.

It sometimes gets lost in the confusion. But ACT and Act Teachers are technically different entities that represent the same sector. I hope we can edit the article to reflect this. NyanThousand (talk) 16:56, 24 April 2019 (UTC)Reply
