Fair use rationale for Image:Chas Jankel - Ai No Corrida excerpt.ogg

edit

Image:Chas Jankel - Ai No Corrida excerpt.ogg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images lacking such an explanation can be deleted one week after being tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.

The meaning

edit

Corrida means run in Spanish, with "corrida de toros" meaning a bull run. But not bullfight, and I see no specific link to bulls mentioned elsewhere. -- Beardo (talk) 03:31, 19 June 2018 (UTC)Reply

it's the import (english) word "corridor" (hallway). "Corridor of Love".
i don't know why this article and the movie it comes from are leaving it in with this intermediate spelling. it's not the real romaji, which would be "koriida", but someone writing this seems to think so.
i hesitate to change the articles, but unless someone involved has stated otherwise, it is surely the english word "corridor". 66.30.47.138 (talk) 08:10, 27 July 2020 (UTC)Reply
The cited book says the film's name was intended to mean "Bullfight of Love", and that the film's title in Japanese was a play on words. There's no point in trying to find the true translation. Binksternet (talk) 08:28, 27 July 2020 (UTC)Reply
i guess "play on words" in the sense that japanese speakers will take it to mean corridor, but a tiny fraction will catch that it has a secret, spanish, meaning. ok, then.
for a pun to work, people need to KNOW the words tho! just b/c dole means penis in farsi doesn't mean an english title like "on the dole" qualifies as bilingual pun. unless there's a clear setup to that effect.
yeah, maybe there was. book prolly explained the title. i won't change anything. 66.30.47.138 (talk) 10:51, 31 July 2020 (UTC)Reply
