Can someone put this text File:Afghanistannamestrip.jpg into the organization name on the article? Thanks Chris 17:46, 26 November 2006 (UTC)Reply

It may be clearer as this File:Afghan Scout Association.jpg. Chris 18:52, 24 February 2007 (UTC)Reply

Scouting in Afghanistan edit

Scouting in Afghanistan redirect here, but there is also a Guiding organization. This also breaks the rule of covering multiple NSOs in another NSO article. --—— Gadget850 (Ed) talk - 16:35, 4 November 2008 (UTC)Reply

Change Scouting in Afghanistan to a disamb page instead. Kingturtle (talk) 16:37, 4 November 2008 (UTC)Reply
The Girl Scouts are not a separate organization, though they were in the period prior to the 1980s. Now they are a section of the same national organization. Chris (クリス • フィッチ) (talk) 12:59, 5 November 2008 (UTC)Reply
This is ambiguous: "Although Afghanistan does have a Guiding organization (possibly coeducational, or in a separated body), work towards World Association of Girl Guides and Girl Scouts membership recognition remains unclear." --—— Gadget850 (Ed) talk - 13:45, 5 November 2008 (UTC)Reply
We can split it off, but I'm less than comfortable without even a name for the org. Chris (クリス • フィッチ) (talk) 15:11, 5 November 2008 (UTC)Reply

see also-stupidity edit

Ah, that stupidity... Okay, the reason Iran and Tajikistan are listed is, first, that they are Persic cultures. There is no reason to list Pakistan, as there is a perfectly fine infobox at the bottom which points to the same. Further, Pakistan has always been a member of the world organization since 1950 without a break in continuity. Iran and Afghanistan have both been members and kicked out several times, for political reasons or unrest, though the official line is "nonpayment of dues", and Tajikistan is a member but the membership is tenuous. Pakistan is not related to any of this in any way shape or form. This is some sort of weird WP:POINT-pushing by the IP. It's like someone posting in the article on Titanic that their cousin was an extra in the movie. Great, so what? I'd sooner do away with any "see also" section than let just anybody put random and in this case unrelated information on there. It simply isn't germane.--Kintetsubuffalo (talk) 15:41, 27 September 2012 (UTC)Reply

Wow, and being accused of racism, that's fun. That point alone makes this a perfect cap to a rough day.--Kintetsubuffalo (talk) 16:03, 27 September 2012 (UTC)Reply

Revival edit

Afghanistan is again certified by World Scouting. The entire section, Revival, must be updated. See https://www.scout.org/node/550830 — Preceding unsigned comment added by 50.32.107.220 (talk) 05:12, 7 February 2020 (UTC)Reply
