Are the vessels here ships or boats? I'm trying to cut down the links to the 'Vessel' disambiguation page and this is one of them. Could someone please change it accordingly? Thank you Em Mitchell 10:04, 5 June 2007 (UTC)Reply

My father spent all his working life on Yard Craft and later the PAS. He always referred to them all as boats. May I point out an important omission from your list of boats. There is no mention of waterboats ( now generally referred to as water carriers). Prior to the introduction of desalination equipment all ships had to carry their own supply of fresh water, and in the days of steam, distilled water for the boilers. The Yard Craft were largely under the direct control of the Victualling Yards who supplied food and water. Prior to about 1953 admiralty tugs were a separate department and sailed in red with a white line round the hull. After the amalgumation of the two departments, the tugs came under YC control. The Yard craft, initially black hulls and buff uppers now sported a green line round their hulls and tugs were repainted black hull, buff uppers and a blue line round the hull. The lines disappeared when they became PAS. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 88.111.235.181 (talk) 19:15, 29 April 2008 (UTC)Reply
