Please fix lead paragraph to explain what the company does
editThe opening paragraph as it stands right now translates to "this company is a company. It was founded by a person."
A better opening paragraph would say, "this company builds schools and gives all its money to charity" -- if that's indeed what it does, but that's the closest I got from skimming the article. Presumably the author of this new article can create a more accurate picture. Regards, NapoliRoma (talk) 23:16, 13 August 2013 (UTC)

Some proposed changes

I work for the Adara Group but would like to suggest the following changes. Most of these changes refer to information that is out of date or don't include references to Adara Partners. There are also a number of instances where key parts of the organisation's history are not included under the history section.
Extended content
|
---|
Change 1: • Information to be added or removed: Under history, include reference to launch of new business – Adara Partners. Text could be: “In 2015, Adara Partners was launched, representing the Adara Group’s second ‘for purpose’ business” • Explanation of issue: Currently no reference to Adara Partners, which is the Adara Group’s most active business. • References supporting change: https://www.afr.com/companies/financial-services/adara-recruits-bankers-in-not-for-profit-drive-20150602-ghf4f6
• Information to be added or removed: Include Adara’s launch year in history. Text could read: “In 1998, the Adara Development was founded, and their two streams of work established: maternal, newborn and child health, and remote community development.” • Explanation of issue: Currently no reference to launch year included in history • References supporting change: https://aicd.companydirectors.com.au/membership/company-director-magazine/2017-back-editions/december/adara-partners-for-purpose
• Information to be added or removed: “The Adara Group is a business for purpose/non-profit partnership. Profits made by Adara Partners and Adara Advisors are donated to Adara Development, covering their core support, administration and emergency project costs.” • Explanation of issue: Does not reference Adara Partners as generating profits for Adara Development. • References supporting change: https://www.afr.com/companies/financial-services/take-the-money-and-fund-a-good-cause-20130112-jie67
• Information to be added or removed: Reorder Adara Advisors, Adara Development and Adara Partners under the Adara model. Change so that it reads Adara Development. Adara Partners, Adara Advisors • Explanation of issue: The least active part of the organisation is listed first. Please change in order of activity.
Change 5: • Information to be added or removed: Include more information about Adara Development. Text could read: “Adara Development is an international development organisation working in maternal, newborn and child health, as well as remote community development. They have worked in Nepal and Uganda since 1998. Adara Development encompasses trusts and registered charities in Australia, the United States, Uganda, Bermuda and Nepal.” • Explanation of issue: Does not elaborate on Adara Development’s work in Nepal and Uganda. • References supporting change: https://aicd.companydirectors.com.au/membership/company-director-magazine/2017-back-editions/december/adara-partners-for-purpose
• Information to be added or removed: Remove reference to Steven Skala under Adara Partners and include current Panel Members: “Panel Members for Adara Partners include Ilana Atlas, Catherine Brenner, Tim Burroughs, Guy Fowlers, David Friedlander, Graham Goldsmith, David Gonski AC, Matthew Grounds, Christian Johnston, Diccon Loxton, Peter Mason AM, Tony Osmond, Mike Roche, Philippa Stone and Cynthia Whelan.” • Explanation of issue: Steven Skala is no longer a Panel Member. • References supporting change: Current Panel Members - https://www.adarapartners.org/wp-content/uploads/2019/07/Media-Release-Adara-Panel-Expansion-July-2019-final-.pdf
• Information to be added or removed: Rename “Project sites” to “streams of work” and then include the following as headings rather than Nepal and Uganda – “Maternal, newborn and child health” and “Remote community development” • Explanation of issue: The organisation’s work is not defined by its project sites, but rather the work it does there. This is echoed in the way people talk about the organisation’s work in the media • References supporting change: https://aicd.companydirectors.com.au/membership/company-director-magazine/2017-back-editions/december/adara-partners-for-purpose
• Information to be added or removed: Under proposed “Remote community development” heading include up to date information about the organisation’s work: “Adara Development’s remote community development work supports people living in isolated communities and encompasses service delivery across health, education and child protection. Their work reaches three areas of Nepal: the district of Humla in the Himalayas, the region of Ghyangfedi and the capital, Kathmandu. Adara’s education work centres on maintaining and developing schools by partnering with local organisations, schools and communities in Humla and Ghyangfedi. Adara also implements health projects which focuses on increasing access to services.” • Explanation of issue: Current explanation of the organisation’s work is very out of date. It doesn’t at all mention it’s work in Ghyangfedi. Key statistics are out of date. Best to include general information about organisation’s work. • References supporting change: https://www.ypo.org/2019/07/bridging-worlds-why-audette-exel-is-a-global-leader-for-tomorrow/
• Information to be added or removed: Under proposed “Maternal, newborn and child health” heading include up to date information about the organisation’s work. This could read: “Adara Development began working with Kiwoko Hospital in 1998. The hospital is located in the Nakaseke District, 80 kilometres northwest of the Ugandan capital, Kampala. They have established a neonatal intensive care unit in the hospital, and provide support for community healthcare, maternal healthcare and people living with HIV/AIDS. Their work focuses on strengthening services by supporting health programmes that ensure women and children – particularly low-birthweight and premature infants – have access to critical services.” • Explanation of issue: Current explanation of the organisation’s work is very out of date. Doesn’t show the full scope of their work. • References supporting change: https://www.ypo.org/2019/07/bridging-worlds-why-audette-exel-is-a-global-leader-for-tomorrow/ |

edit- Information about the organization's structure and important dates of its founding and by whom are already included in the article.
- Much of the material existing in the article and requested for here represents detailed information about the organization's efforts, information which already exists elsewhere, as evidenced by the sources provided with the request — sources which do not constitute the sort of reliable, independent, WP:SECONDARY sources that are preferred for use in Wikipedia's articles.
- Adara Group is clearly a noble cause; however, Wikipedia is not the place to disseminate information about it's activities to the wider public. Other websites are to be preferred for that task.
