I've found no sources confirming the Saint Barbara's Church demolition in 2003, and the citation needed template stayed intact from August, 2010. Thus, I'm removing it. is it possible to change the name of the village from "Abud" to "Aboud"? Aboud is more common and better for pronouncing the city--82.213.38.2 (talk) 11:54, 6 December 2010 (UTC)

This is true. I named it 'Abud because it was the name used by the Palestinian Central Bureau of Statistics, but this source I also used calls it Aboud and I believe the municipal website does so as well. Therefore I will change the name of the article. Also, thanks for including info of the church's bombing; I was not aware of this. I will edit the section for neutrality per wikipedia's policy WP:NPOV. I'm also merging the two church sections under the name Ancient churches for structural issues. Plus "The Israeli bombing of" part of the heading should be removed because the Israeli attack is not the "main" topic of the section, but certainly an important part. --Al Ameer son (talk) 02:05, 7 December 2010 (UTC)

I think it should be pointed out in a separate title about the churches's bombing as it was a big deal in Palestine, and everyone is talking about it till today, and especially at St. Barbara's celebrations which was held few days ago--82.213.38.2 (talk) 12:17, 8 December 2010 (UTC)

I think you are right, we should add "blown up" instead of bombing.

another thing, the term "Israeli Defense Forces (IDF)" is used by israel only, while the Palestinians and others call it Israeli Occupation Forces, so I do not think that it's objective to write "Israeli Defense Forces (IDF)" on a Palestinian page.... at a minimum, it should be "israeli army"--82.213.38.2 (talk) 11:40, 8 December 2010 (UTC)

IDF is the most common term, please take a look at UN publications, for example: [1]. IMHO "Occupation Forces" lacks neutrality, but "the Israeli army" is a reasonable replacement for "IDF", if you wish. --ElComandanteChe (talk) 12:25, 8 December 2010 (UTC)

I will call it IDF if these forces were operating inside Israel, but since they were operating outside Israel and in a different country/region, therefore it should be called occupation forces. Any foreign forces operating in a foreign country against the country's will is occupation and not defense.

Charles Simon Clermont-Ganneau

There is a ref to Charles Simon Clermont-Ganneau, 1898, 166ff in Ellenblum, p. 128. However, I am not able to see the biblio-section in Ellenblum, So I do not know what he refers too. It is not not on ARP I p. 166, or ARP II: p. 166, nor is it Quarterly statement - Palestine Exploration Fund for that time. And I cannot find it in these.
