Production Numbers edit

Are there any records of of how many Quadras were made? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 89.242.78.13 (talk) 12:30, 1 July 2012 (UTC)Reply

128k SRAM edit

I severely doubt this number, particularly as it's missing the main unit. 128kB would've been outrageously expensive, even 16kB (=128 kBit) would already been hefty given the time of entering the market. Any Quadra expert out there to clarify? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 84.163.46.212 (talk) 17:16, 23 December 2014 (UTC)Reply

Yes. Since it only saved 16 settings, and not much data for each, even 1k would have been massive overkill. Perhaps they mean 128 bytes, which would have allowed for 64 bits of storage for each setting, which would probably have been more that enough? -- The Anome (talk) 13:35, 8 October 2016 (UTC)Reply
I've found the service manual, which specifies that it was battery-backed CMOS RAM, but does not state the size, so I've removed the reference to the size of the of RAM. For amusement's sake, compare the spec of the modern ESP8266, which comes with 64+96 kB of RAM and 1 MB of flash, essentially as incidentals, in a sub-$2 unit that is not even intended to be a general purpose computer. -- The Anome (talk) 13:50, 8 October 2016 (UTC)Reply
