Talk:A-Punk

This article should be kept and not redirected because it is a current single. --Thebluesharpdude (talk) 21:25, 18 February 2008 (UTC)Reply

Not because it is a current single—because it is a charting single. Precious Roy (talk) 02:37, 19 February 2008 (UTC)Reply

I was under the impression that single songs don't merit articles unless it's a song that has been covered by more than one artist. Honestly, this information here in the article should be merged into the Vampire Weekend (album) article. I don't see it as necessary for it to have a separate article, especially when the album still needs considerable work. The-Bus (talk) 04:05, 20 February 2008 (UTC)Reply

  • Another one of the criteria for song articles (at WP:MUSIC#Albums and songs) is "[has] been ranked on national or significant music charts"; this single debuted this week on 2 national music charts. Precious Roy (talk) 10:29, 20 February 2008 (UTC)Reply
Yup, the UK chart has it peaked at #61 and the Billboard's Modern Rock Tracks chart (which is the official music chart for Alternative/Modern Rock for the US) it hit #40. That gives it notability. The-bus' claim that "single songs don't merit articles unless it's a song that has been covered by more than one artist" Is totally unfounded and totally untrue and hasn't been the case since at least I joined Wikipedia back in 2005. That's an example of notability. To be honest, I couldn't find where I had read that. I'm glad the song charted, but the album page still needs a lot more work. That's all I was saying. The-Bus (talk) 19:21, 20 February 2008 (UTC)Reply
The album's page does almost certainly needs work (importantly a "reception" section about how the album was so well recieved [I think it only has three negative reviews on Metacritic, which is pretty good]) Doc Strange (talk) 22:11, 20 February 2008 (UTC)Reply

Interesting to read the comments on A-Punk. I actually think it's the best song on the album. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 88.105.61.189 (talk) 20:14, 18 August 2008 (UTC)Reply

Refences in media edit

I have started to notice this track being used in film, television and radio, in different situations and shows. notably in the opening sequence to Step Brothers (film). Would an appropriate section to these enhance the article? Masterplan79th 81.105.162.252 (talk) 15:33, 26 August 2008 (UTC)Reply
