Rewrite edit

This page looks to me as though it needs a fundamental rewrite. I don't even see the subject of the article in the first paragraph. Democraticmacguitarist (talk) 10:50, 1 May 2009 (UTC)Reply

Move Article? edit

This article conflates more than one organization, none of which were designated 6933d Electronic Security Squadron. It is more of an article about the Karamursel Common Defense Installation than about any unit. It also conflates early USAF unit designations in Turkey with stations. Detachments of TUSLOG were the public designations for the real designations of US units, which were Confidential within Turkey. Det 1 and Det 2 of a TUSLOG Det would be other units rather than other stations.

Units numbered 6933 at Karamursel included:

The 6933d Radio Group, Mobile which moved from Ankara in 1957 (where it was organized as the 6933d Radio Squadron, Mobile). It was later designated the 6933d Security Wing and the 6933d Security Group
The 6933d Security Squadron
USAFSS Support units for the intel mission included at various times the 6933d Air Base Squadron (later 6933d Air Base Group, 6933d Support Group) and a second 6933d Air Base Squadron.
At other times USAFE provided base support with units numbered 7217 and 7277.--Lineagegeek (talk) 19:42, 23 July 2013 (UTC)Reply
