NATO Standard edit
Does NATO have a standard 20mm round? I know that the 25mm and 30mm cartridges are standardized as 25x137mm, 25x184mm, 30x113mm, and 30x173mm rounds, but I have not heard of a a NATO standard 20mm round.209.129.16.79 (talk) 00:50, 10 February 2015 (UTC)
I'm not positive, but I am pretty sure the 20 x 110mm Hispano is NATO standard. It's what the US uses in most of our 20mm guns anyway, and it came from a British/French gun. As far as I know it's just about the most prolific 20mm round in the world. If it's not THE NATO standard, I'm pretty sure it's A NATO standard round.

What happened? edit
This could be such an excellent article. I can't believe all there is here is a disjointed collection of half-facts that sounds like it was slapped together by 6 different editors, most of whom don't actually have a real clear idea what they are talking about (like me). An article on the history and the theories and practices of the 20mm caliber...a discussion of the 20mm vs 12.mm debate, and the 20mm vs larger calibers debate. Comparison of different types of guns in WWII, how two guns nominally of "20mm" caliber can be so different from each other. Inter-war and post-war development, the modern debate about high-volume 20mm fire vs lower-volume 30mm fire in an A2A scenario. Use of the 20mm in Vietnam; effectiveness as a ground-attack round. Comparison of different ammo types, discussion of different ammo mixes for different missions. So many possibilities, yet nothing.
