Background

@Deancarmeli: What is the purpose of using the background? We stopped using it for a while and honestly, i can't see the benefit to use it (just to add, that it looks "smoother and cleaner", although it is not a valid argument). Kante4 (talk) 16:05, 4 September 2021 (UTC)

@Kante4: Honestly, I don't have a much better argument than that background colors like HERE help differentiate between game days, and that even Template:Basketballbox collapsible itself uses a background color in its sample of a final match. This is not a hill I would die on, and not just because of WP:COLORWAR. Unlike the actual use of match templates which I believe has intrinsic value, their color is of less importance to me. I took the time to create these match boxes as accessible, labor saving, clear and easy to use as I could. The colors I've used comply with MOS:COLOR. If you want to have a discussion and a vote over removing the background colors from the boxes, that is fine. Otherwise, it stands as a difference in preference between you and I. @Deancarmeli: The example is a final, which i can understand (althugh not like) using a background, to differentiate the game days we use the date parameter. So, we stand still. :D Not sure if many editors would care about a vote, tbh. Kante4 (talk) 18:51, 4 September 2021 (UTC)

Group J, Germany & Finland

I could not find anywhere the reason why Finland is qualified but Germany is not. Logically I'd think that because they have equal points and both have 4 games yet to be played, they both would qualify (or not qualify). 109.240.25.255 (talk) 16:38, 3 November 2022 (UTC)
