I think it makes more sense to post the new renewals on this page, and not on the 2022-23 Season's, since all these renewals are made for the next season, not the past Leprazoori (talk) 11:55, 10 June 2023 (UTC)

Penalty shootout to determinate winner

I don't intend to start an edit war. My modifications are based on current and official regulations. See IFAB rules 23/24 (p. 87): https://downloads.theifab.com/downloads/laws-of-the-game-2023-24?l=en

Extra time and penalty shootouts are an extension of the match due to the fact that there was no winner in 90m. The referee cannot declare the end of the match until there is a winner in it. In the penalty shoot-out, the players who have contested the regulation time take part and players outside of this cannot participate. Also, looking at most sports chronicles, there is a tendency to say that the match was won in penalty shootout or after penalty shootout. The rules of the game are clear. Question: Why was the Copa del Rey match played on 18 January 2024 versus Atlético Madrid declared lost due to the extra time? Is extra time different from a penalty shootout? No. They are simply extensions of the same match. Pròssia (talk) 16:40, 18 April 2024 (UTC)

The game ends once the penalties have been taken. It cannot end earlier because there is no winner. I think the logic is pretty clear. Pròssia (talk) 16:59, 18 April 2024 (UTC)

@Kante4: The rules are very clear, you should read it: When competition rules require a winning team after a home-and-away tie, the only permitted procedures to determinate a winning team are:

- away goals rule

- extra time

- penalties

A combination may be used.

UEFA decided to eliminate away goals and could perfectly determine penalties after 90m. without doing extra time. They are all ways to end the game. Each competition chooses its own. Pròssia (talk) 17:14, 18 April 2024 (UTC)

Stating home/away in the biggest wins/defeats

I think it's essential to add either (H) or (A) after the result to identify the match, because Madrid plays at least 2 games with each La Liga team in the season. Leprazoori (talk) 23:06, 23 April 2024 (UTC)

For me that's trivia information and can be found quickly when scroling down if anyone wants to know. It just clutters the infobox a bit more which is not needed. When they win at the CdR or UCL with the same margin, do we add LL, CL or CdR also after the H/A? Kante4 (talk) 07:09, 24 April 2024 (UTC)
