Information edit

Where is the actual information? I came here to see the scheduled semi finals. Where is the info? 89.205.140.93 (talk) 22:04, 12 April 2022 (UTC)Reply

The flag that represents which club Man City is in in the scorers zone (Halland) is incorrect, it should be England, not Spain 190.42.137.137 (talk) 02:48, 30 April 2023 (UTC)Reply

Redistribution due to Russia edit

Have we had it conf irmed exactly how they are re-distributing teams with Russia being excluded? someone had moved Scotland to group stage - but they could also push teams up the qualifying rounds instead to have say 5 teams qualifying instead of 4. (mobile device - can't figure out how to do the 4 tilde's - sorry) 80.192.242.40 (talk) 17:53, 2 May 2022 (UTC)Reply

Also what happens if Rangers wins both domestic and the Europa League? How would the distribution change there? CrazyC83 (talk) 01:48, 4 May 2022 (UTC)Reply
Though your question is now moot, had Rangers won both comps, they would have automatically gone into Pot 1, as is the right of the Europa League Winners. Had the just won the SPL instead, they would now be taking Celtic's place in pot 4 2A02:8084:26E0:AA00:8819:8756:3422:C731 (talk) 08:02, 29 May 2022 (UTC)Reply

Who put arsenal and Manchester United in this list? 208.98.223.35 (talk) 01:12, 20 May 2022 (UTC)Reply

Ukraine edit

Shouldn’t there be any note on Ukraine’s entries being provisional? Playing football is currently just not possible there.Tvx1 21:57, 25 May 2022 (UTC)Reply

All entries are currently provisional, there should be a note explaining that like there is on the Europa League/Europa Conference League pages. Stevie fae Scotland (talk) 08:52, 26 May 2022 (UTC)Reply

Why are there 2 clubs in France that play in the Champions League. edit

Why can't there be 4 instead of 2 41.114.151.63 (talk) 17:56, 21 June 2022 (UTC)Reply

Distribution is set by UEFA - and based on the coefficients. see Association ranking. personally, I'd ask why non champions even get in the CHAMPIONS league, but wikipedia reports things as they are, not as we may want them to be 148.64.29.45 (talk) 07:31, 6 July 2022 (UTC)Reply

Prize Money edit

I've always thought that these articles on the CL could be enhanced by a section on Prize Money, especially as this is reported to be the richest club tournament in football. It is fairly straightforward as UEFA publishes the awards for every round at the start of the season, as well as the awards for individual matches in the group stage. The only difficult part would be the monies awarded from the TV pool where the awards are on a more complicated basis and wouldn't be known until the season was over. 2A02:8084:26E0:AA00:AD1B:CE1B:D755:8ACB (talk) 07:24, 9 September 2022 (UTC)Reply

The assists table edit

@Island92:

Regarding this: Even if there are such examples in previous articles, this is not what footnotes are for. They are supposed to supplement the main text, not to be parallel texts that repeat information from the main one ("List of players who recorded 3 or more assists and also changed clubs during the season"). Note that another footnote in the page simply says, "Order of legs reversed after original draw", and doesn't say, "As per the original draw Inter Milan was due to host the first leg and Benfica the second one, but the order of legs was reversed after the draw".

Regarding this: Cells are merged if the entries inherently share the same value, or if that value is somehow very central to the table, such as the number of assists in this case. For a numerical statistic like this one, one would expect to find as many values as there are entries, and merging two numbers that happen to be adjacent and the same is not appropriate, much less "needed". Same as in group ranking tables, where e.g. points or goal differences are never merged, or in diachronic lists such as the winners of a competition, where each winner should be listed as many times as they won. --Theurgist (talk) 01:20, 15 April 2023 (UTC)Reply

Whats gonna happen if Inter wins and face off Milan edit

Are they gonna play at San Siro or in different stadiums? Are they playing 1 or 2 games? 191.126.150.31 (talk) 19:20, 19 April 2023 (UTC)Reply

They are gonna play 2 matches at San Siro--Baronedimare (talk) 06:08, 20 April 2023 (UTC)Reply

Why do we call "Ireland" for "Republic of Ireland" but not "Czech Republic" for "Czechia" edit

I've noticed that instead of using "Ireland" - we use the name "Republic of Ireland" on the Champions League Pages.

I understand that this might be because the official UEFA Website itself calls them "Republic of Ireland". This makes sense.

However, instead of "Czech Republic", UEFA uses "Czechia" for the association. I saw someone edited this page to match that - but the edit was reverted and as of now "Czech Republic" is still being used.

It seems incosistent to match the UEFA name for some associations, but not for others.

I think we have also have to remember that it is not countries we have on the Champions League pages - it's associations, which is also why UK is split into 4, and Faroe Islands takes part depsite being an autonomous territory of Denmark.

I think we need to either change "Republic of Ireland" to "Ireland" or change "Czech Republic" to "Czechia", and consider the latter option much better.

If there is dissagreement with this, I'd love to hear why. Thomediter (talk) 00:59, 28 May 2023 (UTC)Reply

In case this is approved of, "Turkey" should also be renamed to "Türkiye"

Inconsistent table/bracket (knockout stage) edit

The first round Bayern - Paris saint-germain bracket does not have the correct score for the first game. I do not know how to change it. Score should be 0-1 for Bayern (https://www.espn.com/soccer/match/_/gameId/656858). 130.44.176.107 (talk) 14:53, 10 June 2023 (UTC)Reply
