Article naming style edit

If we are going to use "2021 Rugby League World Cup" to refer to all tournaments than have separate articles for men's, women's, and wheelchair with the format "2021 Rugby League World Cup - ... tournament". Please can we back date the format so the same is used for all modern era world cups. Mn1548 (talk) 20:53, 17 October 2022 (UTC)Reply

This would be first one where this would be applicable. Although the primary topic will undoubtedly be the mens competition here, the only reason that the move occurred was it got moved at the last minute. This is the first festival of rugby league at a world cup, so there is not a case for it to be retrospective.Fleets (talk) 21:03, 17 October 2022 (UTC)Reply
I didn't think this article was to replace the three separate articles but to remove the common information e.g. host selection, broadcast rights etc out to avoid vast amounts of repetition which is non-specific and to only provide a very high level overview of each of the three tournaments. No, I don't this this should replace the three tournament articles as there would be too much information on this article. It should give a brief overview of each tournament and go into detail about common points of all three. With that in mind, surely this naming convection is applicable, at least going back to 2008. I know this is they first year when they have been at the same time but in the past they still have been played on after the other in the same year. At least it would give a bit more body to the festival of world cups article which mostly just repeat information about the men's tournament and briefly mention the fact that other tournaments happened. The 2021 Festival of World Cup now redirects to its subsection on this page. The (2017) backwards link in this article's infobox now links to 2017 Festival of World Cups instead of the mens. I think this makes sense. Comment by James Lewis Bedford (talk) 10:01, 23 October 2022 (UTC)Reply

Venues and base camps edit

These topics need to be updated in line with the article merge to cover all three tournaments. 86.1.108.214 (talk) 07:16, 18 October 2022 (UTC)Reply

Merge talk edit

The festival of world cups article is a bit redundant if this page is now going to talk about all three tournaments.

Thoughts? Mn1548 (talk) 13:44, 19 October 2022 (UTC)Reply

I support merge on the basis that the article is not that much longer than the subsection on this article anyway. Vote by James Lewis Bedford (talk) 14:33, 19 October 2022 (UTC)Reply

In case it wasn't clear, I'm in favour of a merge. Mn1548 (talk) 13:38, 20 October 2022 (UTC)Reply
Support merge no reason to have the separate article with this overarching article. Storm machine (talk) 23:41, 20 October 2022 (UTC)Reply

I see this action has been taken. Given its unamity I have now also done the same with Legacy of the 2021 Rugby League World Cup (see: Special:diff/1117650311). Comment by James Lewis Bedford (talk) 21:39, 22 October 2022 (UTC)Reply

Integrate finals articles edit

Just a note to say I have created the 2021 Wheelchair Rugby League World Cup Final article, and expect there will be more than enough coverage to do the same for the women's; would the users who have been contributing to and updating the main articles for the overall tournament be able to insert appropriate wikilinks to these finals articles?
