Background section

edit

As seen in the F1 articles marked as good/featured on Wikipedia, the background section to a race should not have have subheadings breaking up the flow. A format with numerous subheadings is okay for quickly producing an article; a higher quality article will not have them, as defined in MOS:BODY - "Short paragraphs and single sentences generally do not warrant their own subheading." An example of an article that follows this is the example race report - the bit on tyres does not warrant its own section, etc. I do not consider the argument 'it has been used on other pages' a worthy one, since that just means that those other pages must be updated to comply with WP:BETTER. That's all well and good but per this discussion, there must be a link to the entry table using {{further}}.

Thanks for your input. It is alright to specify the entry list with {{further}} beneath the section heading, without the need for a separate section subheading, as it is at the moment? AirshipJungleman29 (talk) 13:39, 15 April 2021 (UTC)Reply
In hindsight I dont see why not. It is clear that entries will be dealt with in the background section.
