Order of remaining playoff teams

Here is this year's order of remaining playoff teams.

Conference finalists will be given the final four selections in this year's draft. As teams get eliminated from the playoffs please only add teams that have their selection spot determined.

The following is a list in reverse order of league finish for this year's playoff teams:

• Colorado Avalanche
• New Jersey Devils
• Columbus Blue Jackets
• Philadelphia Flyers
• Los Angeles Kings
• San Jose Sharks
• Pittsburgh Penguins
• Anaheim Ducks
• Minnesota Wild
• Toronto Maple Leafs
• Boston Bruins
• Winnipeg Jets
• Washington Capitals
• Vegas Golden Knights
• Tampa Bay Lightning
• Nashville Predators

Ex: If the Avalanche or Predators were to be eliminated in the first two rounds they would pick 16th and 27th respectively. If the Avalanche were to make the conference finals and New Jersey was eliminated in the opening two rounds then the Devils would pick 16th. Top prospects

Speaking from personal experience, one of the things I do after the draft is to see where some, if not all, the 26 top prospects actually got picked in the draft. What I tried to do in 2017 to help readers who may be doing the same thing, is to put the in italics after the prospect listed, the actual the pick number (see small version of what the edit looked like below:

The edit was reversed because 'this was not done in the past'. I do believe this is an improvement to NHL Draft page, and this, or something similar should be done for 2018. I hope some of you reading this will post your opinions below.Juve2000 (talk) 01:57, 22 June 2018 (UTC)

From WP:NOT "merely being true, or even verifiable, does not automatically make something suitable for inclusion in the encyclopedia." The fact is that readers can easily just scroll down and find that information, or hell, they can even click on the player's name and find that information on their bio page. Also this just adds trivial information to a section that is only about where the players were ranked based on the continent that they were playing on in their draft year. Draftees based on nationality

I switched Simon Kjellberg from USA to SWE. He was born in Tennessee, yes, but he was born to Swedish parents, was raised, trained, played, and drafted from Sweden (just as Gravel was born in Germany, but we have him listed as Canadian). However, when I went to go updated the nationality table, I noticed the numbers do not line up with what the NHL has reported. For example, the NHL has noted this year as a record (tying) year for Swedes at 28 draftees, but our board has 29, and 30 once Kjellberg was moved over. Here is their list:

Canada 71

United States 55

Sweden 28

Russia 19

Finland 15

Czech Republic 10

Slovakia 5

Germany and Switzerland 4

Belarus 2

Jamaica, Norway, Thailand and United Kingdom 1

I will go through the two lists and compare, when I get the chance, unless somebody else beats me to it.
EDIT: Actually, I'm not even sure how reliable the NHL's own list is... if they group Norway and the UK together, but list only 1 draftee from the two, then they are doing something funky with one of Mathias Pettersen and Liam Kirk. –uncleben85 (talk) 16:58, 24 June 2018 (UTC)

I know that you already know this, but welcome to the annual mess that is figuring out this table. I made the same executive decisions on the kids born in Jamaica and Thailand as both grew up playing hockey in Canada. Deadman137 (talk) 20:19, 24 June 2018 (UTC)
