Agreed, pretty routine news-cycle stuff, not indicative of notability. But we should wait a month or two to see if there are any lasting effects of the event before concluding it is non-notable per WP:CRYSTAL, which is why the template should remain until the AfD. VQuakr (talk) 03:11, 11 June 2015 (UTC)

Just a news story, not notable. I live near McKinney and the news has already started to move onto other things and the news trucks have all packed up and left. On tonight's news the abandoned puppies story received more air time than the pool party. Even the Tony Romo tweet about the NFL got more air time. I looked at the above links: ABC Australia was a photo and a caption. DW News was a Facebook post, I scrolled through the top 30 stories DW posted and did not see it, they moved on. The StraitsTimes link was messed up but I found it. Seems they just used a Reuters article as filler Heyyouoverthere (talk) 03:35, 11 June 2015 (UTC)

Yes, it's pretty typical of this sort of story that there are a massive number of sources that contain the same content. VQuakr (talk) 03:37, 11 June 2015 (UTC)
I'll keep an eye on the local news. Today they talked about the traffic, a DART light rail crash with a car, another attempt at an ATM theft, a new bridge under construction and continued covered about the May 2015 storms that hit Texas and Oklahoma that brought a deluge of rain, filled the lakes and caused severe flooding. They had the reporter out on the lakes with the police talking about the massive amounts of debris that now litters the lakes and the obstructions popping up, such as the logs and other debris. Most of the lakes are still flooded over where you can see the parking lot fence line now starting to peek out from under the water. Current temperature is 92 with a heat index of 93. I would say those storms are more notable than this. Heyyouoverthere (talk) 23:08, 11 June 2015 (UTC)
Watching the 10pm news. A brief compilation. News is about the recent convince store shooting, a Soldier coming back for his son's 16th birthday, a commercial about Sonic's high price shake after 8p.m., a car crash that killed the Aledo school superintendent, a bear cub found wandering around a neighborhood, a story about rubber mulch on playgrounds and possible health effects, Dallas Mayor's Summer Reading Club and an 86 year-old Grandma going skydiving. Weather is talking about 12 dry days in a row but the ridge of high pressure is moving out and now cooler air is moving in with a chance of thunderstorms but mostly east and north east of the DFW metroplex but chance of rain is 50% on Monday. Talking about the lake conditions and how Lake Grapevine is about 25 feet above normal. Currently 85 degree outside. Some mattress commercial and an ATT U-Verse commercial. Sports is up and talking about the Dallas Cowboys and contract signings followed by a story on the high school football camp put on by the Cowboys. Now we got the Rangers losing against the Oakland As but the Rangers are only 2 1/2 games behind the Astros in the AL-West. Preview of the TCU vs Omaha and college baseball world series with a short interview with the coach. And now a run down on the high school baseball playoffs. The sports anchor is finishing up by commenting on the NBA finals which is still going as I type this. Heyyouoverthere (talk) 03:28, 12 June 2015 (UTC)
Watching the PBS station and DW news since DW was mentioned above. A story about Rupert Murdoch retiring and his sons taking over the media empire, the FIFA scandal, return of some astronauts after some rocket failure, a Buena Aires story about no blocking wheel chair sloped curbs, refugee center in Germany story. Did you know that Germany is the biggest recipient of refugees in Europe? Story about UN Peacekeepers paying for sex with locals in Liberia and Haiti. Story about MERS outbreak in Korea thus Chinese visitors are down by 50,000. Did you know 6 million visitors to Korea last year? Story on Christopher Lee passing. A good long piece with footage from Dracula, James Bond and Lord of the Rings. They talked about his influence on cinema. Long in-depth stories vs the 15-45 second pieces people see on U.S. news. . So yeah, I don't think that this event is all that notable. Plus the way it is written only revolves around the cop. Heyyouoverthere (talk) 04:01, 12 June 2015 (UTC)
Catching an early morning recap of my local CBS station and it seems they are trying to get the party promoter's side of the events. http://dfw.cbslocal.com/video/11590156-future-of-make-it-clap-parties-uncertain/ Again, I will say that Yes, this is a news event. But is it truly Notable to have it's own Wikipedia entry? If so, the article needs to be expanded to cover the entire event-before, during and after. Heyyouoverthere (talk) 10:44, 12 June 2015 (UTC)

537 pounds!? That's a lotta pot. VQuakr (talk) 22:33, 12 June 2015 (UTC)

More on the convince store robbery and murder in The Colony. Since the start of the year, 26 of 48 ATM crimes this year have been unsuccessful as most of the time they drive a vehicle into a building to snatch it but can't remove it before the cops show up. They said more damage is done to the building/store than the amount of money inside the ATM. Continued coverage of the DFW flooding from May 2015. News ended with a story about President George H. W. Bush celebrating his 91st birthday. Heyyouoverthere (talk) 03:45, 13 June 2015 (UTC)
It is 1am and I am watching a news repeat of another station. They started out talking about the McKinney event but was more about a protest march that tried to get on 75/Central. LOL that would be dangerous and I'm not talking about all the traffic in that area but more so with all the construction that is going on along that route. I personally try to avoid driving in that area as many times it is reduced to 1 lane where everyone drives 5 MPH and has taken me 20 minutes just to get from one section to another where I could take an exit and get off the road. Could be worse such as the construction on 635/LBJ when they have shut down the entire freeway at night for all the construction, once when I was driving to the airport I ended up having to take the side roads to get past it all adding considerable time to the trip. Anyway, the protesters were outnumbered by pro-police protesters and the Back the Blue march. Story evolved into a Back the Blue motorcycle ride coming up and they went on to talk about that. Story on the 4yr old drowning. Story about some trial of teenagers that murdered another teen. Car crash story in Rowlett. Update on Biker Gang Shootout in Waco. Ongoing coverage of the May 2015 storms. FEMA assessment team story and how there was about $60 million in damage across Dallas county. Longer story on the May 2015 storms and the rebuilding process. One guy interviewed said he is trying to fix his house up and plans to sell it and move away from the area. Talked about the damages to the the public infrastructure in some areas and how many places are still flooded over. Showed some footage of the local lakes and lake levels with info from the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers and flood control procedures. Update on recent earthquakes in the area and that those were not related to the fracking going on. More on Gov. Abbott signing new bills. Story on the Rachel Dolezal/NAACP and how she called herself black. Story about 6 car burglaries in one neighborhood. Interviews of the people who had their stuff taken. Did show some surveillance video that showed the perp trying to get into some cars and they talked about calling the police if you recognize the guy. Weather is up and talking about the potential for rain but more so for Parker and Wise counties. Lake level reports, most are way over the normal level such as Lake Texoma, Lake Lavon and Lake Lewisville and that it will take a few months for those levels to go down. Fatal car crash story on Firewheel Parkway in Garland. Reporter is live on the scene where the crash happened but they are showing some daytime footage of the scene to include tire/skid marks and some other background info. Talking about the recovery process for the survivor who is still in the hospital. Hold on, some car just pulled up outside and sitting there with yellow/old headlights on, gotta go check. I'm back, they drove on, not sure what it was about, I did not recognize the car. Story about the Dez Bryant contract issue and how he will not be at the Cowboys minicamp this upcoming week. Story on Dillon Tate signing with the Ranger and the game against the Minnesota Twins. 2015 College World Series story and how TCU is going to play. Big news around here not sure about where you are at. Speaking of big news, high school sports time. Prosper vs Georgetown in the state 5A high school baseball championship. Now some semifinals with Dallas Jesuit vs Cypress Ranch in the 6A with Arlington Martin vs Laredo Alexander in another 6A semifinal. Only recently did I learn about the move to 6A. Back in my day we only had 5A as the top high school level. Story on Hope Solo and Team USA vs Sweden in soccer but ended in a draw. Story on the D-Day bomber that was recently found, called That's All Brother and how it will be restored and put on display at Dallas Executive Airport. Neat. That's it. That is the report of the local news in the DFW area and how they are treating the McKinney pool party event. Does anyone else have reports on how their local news is treating it. I know it happened here but it seems to be a flash in the pan story where it has died down and more time is allocated to the Dallas Cowboys and the 2015 May Storms. I looked around for some other news but nothing, now watching the movie Love Field. Heyyouoverthere (talk) 06:49, 13 June 2015 (UTC)
Well, been watching the early morning Saturday news. So far they are focusing on last night's attack on the Dallas Police Department Headquarters. They talked bout how it started early this morning, what the police did to respond, the exchange of gunfire, the types of negotiation they used and how the guy took off in a van that look to be up-armored. He took off driving and was stopped in the city of Hutchins, just south of Dallas. They are working with their bomb squad to make sure the van in question is not booby-trapped. FBI is also involved with the investigation. It is now 8:45AM and they have spent the majority of the hour talking about it and right now Dallas Police Chief David Brown is holding a press conference/question and answer session. He is going around the room from right to left asking questions of the reporters. He just said that no officers were injured. I'll keep watching and report back later. .Heyyouoverthere (talk) 13:48, 13 June 2015 (UTC)
Now watching channel 5 and they are covering the live events revolving around the attack on the Dallas Police Department Headquarters. They talked about the potential bombs and how the bomb squad came out and tried to remove a suspicious package when it exploded and destroyed the robot. They are now talking at the HQ and now have Chopper5 hovering over I45 and Dowdy Ferry Road where the suspect's van was disabled and they think the suspect is down although they can't be sure. They now have a reporter on the street talking about how the area around the DPD being evacuated and the camera is showing the empty streets. Report on the South Side on Lamar apartment complex being evacuated last night and an interview with one of those residents. He got off work last night and was headed home when this all went down. I wonder if he was able to get some sleep. Talk about how the Red Cross is on the scene to help the residents. Back to Chopper 5 and how the police are moving in on the van. Well, time for commercial. It is now 9:17am. .Heyyouoverthere (talk) 14:18, 13 June 2015 (UTC)
Live shot from Chopper 5 that shows the robot looking into the van. They are trying to get a look at the suspect and to see if the van is rigged to explode like the suspect claimed. They said the suspect is James Boulware who has a lengthy record with the police. The anchor is talking to Paris police chief Bob Hundley about past police interaction with Boulware. Wait, it seems the Paris police arrested Boulware on an existing warrant from Dallas back in 2013. So it seems that Boulware did not live in Paris but his brother did. Hmm, I've been to Paris once. Did you know they have a mini version of the Eiffel Tower? Heyyouoverthere (talk) 14:42, 13 June 2015 (UTC)
Channel 11 came on with a breaking news update. Reporter Arezow Doost is live on the scene with a side shot of the van they just showed one of the robots approach the van. They are saying that the suspect is dead but are having a hard time getting entry into the van. Due to the potential of a booby trap, they tried to go through the windshield but it didn't work and now they are trying the side windows but they are not breaking. Heyyouoverthere (talk) 15:05, 13 June 2015 (UTC)
Reports from the scene indicate that the police used a water charge to be able to remove the windshield. They also said that the guy used blackpowder for his bombs and not C4 as initially claimed. Now they are slowly entering the vehicle. In other news, it looks like my house got some rain overnight but the sun has come out. If it dries out I can finally get around to mowing the grass. Heyyouoverthere (talk) 15:14, 13 June 2015 (UTC)
Police are still working the scene and securing the van. Unable to confirm suspect death until they clear the van. Heyyouoverthere (talk) 15:59, 13 June 2015 (UTC)
Local news with an interview with the suspect's father who says his son was angry after child custody battle. Heyyouoverthere (talk) 16:40, 13 June 2015 (UTC)
Noon news update. No newscasts but a quick update on breaking news about the Dallas Police Department headquarters shooting and an update on the weather for the afternoon. I stepped out to check how my grass was drying out and it is hot and muggy but I should be able to mow the grass. Heyyouoverthere (talk) 17:31, 13 June 2015 (UTC)
Here is a 5pm DFW news update for June 13, 2015. News starting out with the Dallas PD shooting that started last night. They now have a reporter love on the scene outside the PD HQ. Seems the perp drove up there, got out, started shooting and then got back in the armored van. Some interviewed with witnesses, then an interview with a police spokesman, some photos of the pipe bomb explosion. Now we have another reporter in Hutchins where the event ended. I see people with jackets that say ATF on the back and a guy in a white hazmat type suit going through the van to get evidence. Talked about how they had to close down I45 for a good portion of the day but now open back up. Talking about the lack of security in and around the HQ and need to beef it up. Now we see an interview with the suspect’s parents. Sit down interview with the guys father. Mother said the suspect was diagnosed with mental illness when he was 14. That might have led to the child custody issue on Monday and that he wanted to commit suicide by wife. Father said the son came over to visit and cut the grass yesterday. Damn, wish he cut mine. Now we got another reporter out in Paris talking about the connection to that town. Interview with someone who looks like he does not have his teeth in. Back to video from the press conference and the DPD chief talking about the damage in the HQ, the video had photos of the various bullet holes in the building, broken windows, some of the cars that got shot up, etc. Now it is 5:15 pm and turning to weather. Talking about the brief showers we got today. They are showing the radar screen and a line of storms that is dissipating. Currently 55% humidity 68 dew point and 86 degrees with a slight breeze. Trouble in the tropics and 7 day forecast coming up later. An American Eagle flight struck by a vehicle while on the tarmac at the airport, no injuries. Talking about TCU going to college baseball world series. Footage of games played and press conference with the head coach. Women’s soccer story and how Team USA will play Team Nigeria on Tuesday. Got some hot soccer chicks, too bad I missed the game against Sweden, all those blondes, running around the soccer field, boobies bouncing around, getting all sweaty and then hitting the showers. Some NASCAR story, sorry I missed what they said as I was thinking about those Swedish blondes. A little banter at the end and that is the news for today. Heyyouoverthere (talk) 22:41, 13 June 2015 (UTC)
Waiting to catch the early 9pm news on channel 4 but the baseball game is still on. New York Yankees vs Baltimore Orioles with the Orioles leading 9 to 4 and what looks like top of the 9th according to the graphic on the screen. Alex Rodriguez just got up to bat with a ton of boos from the crowd. Let's see how he does. So far 1 strike, 1 ball. The announcers are talking about how he is 5 hits shy of 3,000. And he hit a foul. Now we are at 1 ball, 2 strike count. Wow, that was an INSIDE pitch that almost hit him. Alex sucked it in and missed it. So, 2-2 and there is another strike. Yankees lost their 3 straight in a row but still on top. Baltimore is 2 games behind. Well, no news yet as they just went to the post game portion. Heyyouoverthere (talk) 02:33, 14 June 2015 (UTC)
9:40 pm and the news finally started. Hmm. No mention of the pool party but they started out with an update of the DPD HQ shooting that happened late last night/early this morning They have a reporter live at the building giving us an update among the workers trying to clear out the damage and put up some plywood. This looks like it will take a while. Will save this for now and I gotta go pee. Heyyouoverthere (talk) 02:43, 14 June 2015 (UTC)
Well it seems they just concentrated on the DPD HQ shooting and gave a tease to weather before ending. But don't worry, the 10pm news is about to start up and I'll report on that. Heyyouoverthere (talk) 02:56, 14 June 2015 (UTC)

Show started with a recap of the Dallas PD HQ shooting with reporter Brian New with a live report and behind him are workers removing the rest of the broken glass, you can hear it shattering when being thrown away. Hmm…blue in color, should have been painted Zombie Green. Well, too late now. Now we got another reporter talking about the background of James Boulware over the years. Back to the anchor and talking about the Dallas Police Association commenting on the shooting.
