Talk:2014 Irwin Tools Night Race

Non-free use of File:2010 Irwin Tools Night Race logo.jpg edit

Non-free logos of perennial events or their sponsors cannot be used to as the primary means of identification for individual instances of the event. It perfectly acceptable to use File:2010 Irwin Tools Night Race logo.jpg in Irwin Tools Night Race since that it the logo of the event and a valid non-free use rationale can be written. A valid non-free use rationale, however, cannot be written for articles about the yearly occurrences of "Irwin Tools Night Race" per No. 14 of WP:NFC#UUI. If there does not exist a logo specific to this particular year, then that does not mean the main article's logo can be used instead. The main article can be wikilinked and the logo can be seen there, so it's not needed here per WP:NFCC#8 as well as No. 14 of NFC#UUI. One possible exception might be if this year was the first and only year that the race was held and there was no stand-alone article for the race itself. In such a case, No. 14 of NFC#UUI would be irrelevant and the image could then be used as the primary means of identification in the infobox and would satisfy NFCC#8. - Marchjuly (talk) 05:25, 23 June 2015 (UTC)Reply
