Livescores edit

Hi

Per WP:LIVESCORES we should not add scores to matches still in play. Please wait until match is finished and then add the score. If you dont discuss here your edits will be considered disrutive and you might get warned and blocked. This has also been discussed on WT:FOOTY many times. error in colors? edit

Czech Republic is marked with red background, meaning they can't qualify. Strangely, Armenia has same amount of points but still able to qualify?
Actually, it is still possible for any of the four teams within one point (Bul, Den, Cze, Arm) to finish second by getting more points than the others. If not, then I'm missing something. 85.217.41.84 (talk) 22:13, 11 October 2013 (UTC)Reply

No that is not an error Czech republic is eliminated. If they become second placed they are going to be the worst teams and be eliminated. However if for instance Armenia will be second they can qualify because they have more points in second place ranking (were matches against last placed team dont count.) Not necessarily. Whilst I agree that the Czech Republic are out, Denmark can still make the playoffs. Please consider the following (extreme) possibilities:
- Group B: Denmark win, Bulgaria dont win. Denmark second with 16pts. For 2nd place comparision, their record will be fixed at 10pts, -2GD, 9GF
- Group D: Turkey, Romania and Hungary all lose (vs Netherlands, Estonia and San Marino!). Turkey and Romania finish 2nd and 3rd with equal points, GD will separate them (currently +9 vs +5 in favour of Turkey). Considering both teams records (minus 6th place), we have:
Turkey 10pts, +2GD, 9GF (remember, a loss vs Netherlands will worsen their record)
Romania 10pts, -3GD, 9GF (remember, a loss vs Estonia will worsen their record)
- As such, for Denmark to qualify, (1) they need to beat Malta, (2) for Bulgaria not to win, (3) have Turkey lose by 5 goals vs Netherlands (to have a GD of -3), (4) for Romania to lose (number of goals unimportant) and (5) for Hungary to lose to San Marino(!).
- EDIT: just as I submitted this, Denmark's colour changed from pink to yellow. The table is now correct.

Yes that is very true, I changed the colors back before I saw your edit. It was only wrong for about 3 minutes, due to some editor believing denmark was out, but that has been corrected. QED237 (talk) 01:09, 12 October 2013 (UTC)Reply
Minor quibbles: Hungary plays Andorra in group D and Hungary doesn't have to lose. A draw would also work (but Andorra have lost all their 9 matches with a total score of 0-28). If Turkey loses 0-4 and finishes second then they will have the same second place stats as Denmark and I don't know what happens. PrimeHunter (talk) 01:29, 12 October 2013 (UTC)Reply
That is correct, a draw between Hungary and Andorra is exactly the same as a Hungarian loss. About the Turkey 0-4 loss (and still second), turkey will get 10pts and goals 9-11, while denmark get the same 10 pts and goals 9-11. In that case I am not sure what will happen but I can take a look at it tomorrow. QED237 (talk) 01:40, 12 October 2013 (UTC)Reply
After some more digging I cant find the info, but previously it has been goal scored away as the fourth and then it should be Denmark (8 goals) before Turkey (7goals) but it could also be a game on neutral grounds. QED237 (talk) 01:56, 12 October 2013 (UTC)Reply
Group E: If Slovenia draw and Iceland lose then Slovenia will end up in 10 points and could be worst runner-up. I don't think Iceland loses though as Norway is already out and will help fellow Scandinavian team.:)87.93.112.239 (talk) 07:59, 12 October 2013 (UTC)Reply
Slovenia has positive goal difference and a draw would not change that, so they would be certain to have better goal score than Denmark when Denmark's final match against the bottom Malta is removed. However, Bulgaria or Armenia in second place could be better than Slovenia. PrimeHunter (talk) 10:09, 12 October 2013 (UTC)Reply
