Yes they are, all the people who self-immolated did so as a protest against the Bulgarian government, just like the demonstrators who were protesting at the same time! Charles Essie (talk) 17:24, 23 April 2013 (UTC)

I disagree, as the merging of these two topics would undermine the significance of the self-immolations. It is important to note that self-immolations on this scale are not the norm in Bulgaria. Given the special nature of these self-immolations, it is crucial that we do NOT simply dump it into the same category as the 2013 protests. Protests happen ever year in Bulgaria, where the economic situation is dire. Self-immolations do not. As an academic professional in the international relations and human rights field, I feel that it is my duty to underscore this for all the other readers on here. Oh, I just noticed that it has been turned into a disambig. None of this has been discussed, so I suggest just move this back to 2013 Bulgarian protests, and delete Protests against the Oresharski cabinet or merge it with this one. The latter is fairly insignificant and limited in scope, doesn't merit its own article IMO. - ☣Tourbillon ^A ? 09:06, 6 June 2013 (UTC)

Not so with the nonsense in your head. In winter they protested after youth minister was laid off and because they wanted NPP Belene, which was strange since actually he was laid off for not wanting Belene. However the now June 2013 protests are against NPP Belene (mafia) and are not consisted of people under the jurisdiction of youth and education ministry. As per my arguments here, I believe this page should be unlocked and moved. With –

• 2013 Bulgarian protests being a disambiguation + brief chronology page
• The current info from "2013 Bulgarian Protests" to be moved to Protests against the Borisov cabinet
• Protests against the Oresharski cabinet remains as it is.

(Possibly have the latter two pages have "2013" added to them, or even to be lengthened to "2013 Bulgarian protests against the ... cabinet"?)

Suicides and despair

I want to discuss about this. Online paid communist writers were constantly evoking suicidal thoughts on their readers, intentionally, this continued with months, and now after they have the government but people don't like them they are threatening with civil war. --Aleksd (talk) 16:01, 28 June 2013 (UTC)

I want to remind

The protests started after ariving of 40 days bills which happened after some probably 20 day bills during the time of referendum for NPP Belene, that Ataka supports. However even after the referendum the ruling party GERB MPs blocked the project in Parliament which obviously angered project supporters like BSP and Ataka. The protest consisted of youngsters who never pay bills but was evoked on streets by parties and of course Ataka (Volen Siderov). Also I want to remind that protests started after the Minister of youth and education was laid off. And they gradually stopped in a week time after the resignation of Borisov government and the appointment of new government by President Plevneliev. --Aleksd (talk) 16:18, 28 June 2013 (UTC)

Given the self-immolations were all apparently related to protests against the Borisov cabinet (though Marechkov's might've been for other reasons as well), and so little information is actually available about these suicides other than discussion of the protests themselves, there really isn't any notability for the self-immolations that's independent of the protests themselves. —/Mendaliv/^2¢/_Δ's/ 14:46, 12 February 2014 (UTC)
