Abbreviations

Can anyone tell me what these abbreviations in the table headers mean: MP MW FW FL FD PTS

Shouldn't it be like this: MP (matches played) MW (matches won) ML (Matches lost) FW (frames won) FL (frames lost) PTS (points)

Nations Cup / World Cup

http://www.cajt.pwp.blueyonder.co.uk/team.html says "It was to be MANY YEARS before that event was held again ALTHOUGH a Nations Cup involving the home countries began in 1999 with some other teams joining in 2001". To make it sound more important probably. Face it, there is still NO SOURCE saying it's the same event. It's only says first World Cup, but that doesn't mean that is hasn't taken place under a different namer. If you give me a source, which says the World Cup was last held in 1996 (but not with the wording returns or fiest WC since), than I will accept that. I just found the source, which says you're right. Article says that in 2001 Ireland reached it's first Nations Cup final, but if the WC and NC would be the same, than it would been Irelands at least second final. • I disagree with this split. The Nations Cup was just the World Cup under a new format. Sources often refer to the "first" LG Cup, or the "first" World Open because it's a new name and they are not familiar with the history of the tournament. Dave Hendon the snooker journalist for Snooker Scene and the commentator for Eurosport gives a detailed history of the World Cup here and includes the Nations Cup in it. There is another "history" here: [2]. I think the articles should be rejoined unless there is definitive evidence they were separate tournaments. Betty Logan (talk) 19:13, 14 July 2011 (UTC)
