Eligible clubs edit

That link is to a calendar of matches from the past season, not to a qualification method.

At this point it is just a list of potential teams based on the top 1-3 of some of the CFU members. What about the other CFU members? And how does the dissolution of the Netherlands Antilles effect the list (if at all)?

Don't get me wrong - that list is better than nothing, but unless there's a source saying that the other CFU members are for some reason ineligible AND that each member gets the listed number of slots, then we need to clearly state that the list is incomplete and/or based on "expected" alignment of slots based on previous seasons, or some such wording.

cheers,

I just noticed that the "format" section is somewhat more inclusive, but even that leaves out 3 members (missing Barbados, British Virgin Islands, & French Guiana) and assumes each of the others get one slot each. (and I'm also assuming the correct champions are listed, I don't have time to double check all that).

I managed to find the 2010 regulations document (http://caribbeanfootballunion.org/home/2010pdf/regcc2010.pdf), which has the exact same wording regarding entrants as a previous version of the document (basically 2 clubs - national champion and sub-champion from "highest level league or cup" are eligible to enter, if they can afford it and so desire to) - I guess the 3rd Puerto Rican team in 2010 was entered under section II.B. "The CFU Executive Committee shall determine the right of entry of any other clubs."

Tournament name edit

Where is this called the CFU Club Championship? I read the regulations for the past two tournaments (this and 2010), and the tournament is called the CFU Club Champions' Cup. Perhaps it should be renamed for accuracy...? Digirami (talk) 17:45, 11 March 2011 (UTC)Reply

Did the Islanders qualify because they were their tournament's runner-up? And why did they get a bye to the quarterfinals? edit

Did the Islanders qualify because they were runners-up or because they are defending champs? Did they get a bye because they're defending champs? It seems weird to qualify for being runners-up, but then get a bye for a different reason. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 64.136.27.12 (talk) 00:20, 10 May 2011 (UTC)Reply
