Minor Parties edit

Actually all parties will be debating and 6 of the 8 are in the polling data(Rasmussen will glad give you a full report if asked), so there goes those idea. But for a second look, if we are to define Major party vs Minor, it would have to be based on historical relevance in that electoral area (thus the State of Vermont in this case). Therefore Independent would have to a major party (Senator Bernie Sanders), Progressive would have to a major Party (has broken 20% in Govenor's race 2 of the last 3 times, both times beating the Democratic candidate)although they do seem to have not fielded anyone here. But Jerzeykydd, you seem to like 5% margin, so let's use that as a measuring stick for major party status in Vermont in state elections for the last 3 cycles? Which as I look is almost broken by Liberty Union party twice both times for Secretary of State, is broken by the Libertarians for Auditor in 2008,and although not meeting the criteria, Cris Erickson herself has gotten over 2% each time she runs (on basically a one issue platform). So if we use this, you would have to move 4 of the 6 "minor" candidates upwards leaving 2 down there. Gloern (talk) 09:47, 28 August 2010 (UTC)Reply
