==Rubén== User:Bardhylius, no need to shout! I undid your change about Ruben because you didn't enter any source for that information. If you have a source, please renter the information with the source. Thanks. --ClaudioMB 20:35, 4 August 2007 (UTC)(Wrong place to enter that)--ClaudioMB 02:16, 5 August 2007 (UTC)Reply

Friendlies edit

I believe there is no need to enter on the Competition/Tour column the country FC Barcelona is playing in the Asia Tour, as someone keep doing it. The tour is called Asian Tour and the countries could be seeing by the country's flag beside the ground where is played. Thanks. --ClaudioMB 17:06, 7 August 2007 (UTC)Reply

EU Citizenship edit

According to Ronaldinho's wiki page, he became a Spanish citizen in January, 2007. Doesn't that make him an EU citizen? I am not sure on these particular laws, but that's how it seems to me. Thus, shouldn't he not have an x next to his name? Isaiah 14:31, 14 August 2007 (UTC)Reply

Please, check what the source for that information really says, because this article says he does not have an EU passport.--ClaudioMB 23:07, 14 August 2007 (UTC)Reply
The source is this but I can't read it because I don't have Times Select. From checking around the net, most sources seem to quote the goal.com article or just merely state that Ronaldinho is one of the 3 exemptions. A ton of articles say that he's GOING to get citizenship, but were dated in December 2006 and suggest January 2007 as the month he'd be getting it. The NYTimes article is from late March, so it should have more up-to-date information. The official team site says nothing about citizenship anywhere that I can find. For now, it's fine to stay as it is, of course. I'll try to keep tabs on it. Isaiah 00:32, 15 August 2007 (UTC)Reply
That link didn't work when I clicked it. Here it is again, amended.

Intro edit

The intro to this page should be more complete and less biased. "Disappointing" is a relative term that perhaps is not appropriate without documentation from the club itself or a major penye stating that it was disappointing. The term "world class" seems a bit like overkill as well, but there can probably very little discussion about whether or not Thierry Henry, specifically, is world class. I very, very much dislike the sentence "Now, Barça, with Ronaldinho, Eto'o, Messi and Henry, has the best attack that a team could have and will probably be a pleasure to watch," because it's Victor Valdes who is saying this, not someone unrelated to the club. That would be like my mom saying I'm a really great guy and you quoting her as proof that I really am a great guy. As a Barcelona fan, I tend to agree with all of the statements, but they're not truly objective, are they? Can we get a short discussion of what should be there instead? I'll try to write up a sample of it today and post it here as a response to this post. Isaiah 14:57, 16 August 2007 (UTC)Reply

Now, after you've brought this up, I realize I wrote it as a Barcelona fan. Reading it, sounds funny. If you have something in mind, please, redo it. If not, I'll rewrite it later. Thanks. --ClaudioMB 17:17, 16 August 2007 (UTC)Reply

Restructure edit

I wondering what everybody thinks of the new structure of the article. I'm trying to group sections to make it easy to find them. Keep, modify or undo it? Thanks.--ClaudioMB 23:36, 28 August 2007 (UTC)Reply

Standard date format edit

I'd like to propose to use a standard date format for this article and other similar ones: Wikipedia:Manual_of_Style_(dates_and_numbers)#Dates says how dates should be shown and also should be Autoformatting and linking. That's allow users to see dates formated as their personal preference (e.g. 12 Jan or Jan 12). So, there is some options that could be used in those articles. I see 4 options:

Other possibility is to use one format for some situations and another format for another situation. For example: a format for matches' date and another one for Last updated's date.

My opinion is to use option 1 for matches' date and option 2 for Last updated date and events. I don't think there is need to show year because is one-year season, so no month could happen twice. Option 2 will make matches date's columns unnecessarily more stuffed and difficult to read. This article already uses those options, so anyone could see how it would look like.
I'm invading every contributors from those cited articles to participate and give their suggestions. Regards.--ClaudioMB 01:27, 9 September 2007 (UTC)Reply

Of these I would definitely prefer 2 or 4 as they agree with the MoS. The other possibilites are:
 1. 2007-01-12 2007-01-12 which, while unambiguous and short is not great, but is used widely, and:
 2. 12 January 2007 12 January 2007 which is small but hard to read for some.
Rich Farmbrough, 22:43 17 September 2007 (GMT).
To follow Wikipedia MoS, I'm changing my position to use option 2 for the whole article. The year is not necessary since the article covers a 12 month period.--ClaudioMB 15:32, 18 September 2007 (UTC)Reply

Manual of Style for club season articles edit

There is a discussion about Manual of Style for club season articles that could after this article, you could participate here.--ClaudioMB 16:33, 12 September 2007 (UTC)Reply

Last updated edit

In order to give readers a more precise information, I believe all tables and prose should informed when it was last updated while the current season is on going. After that, that should be suppressed.--ClaudioMB 00:27, 16 September 2007 (UTC)Reply

Prose for sections edit

I'd like to invite anyone to contribute to include prose for each section (like the Squad information one) and improve the Overall section (I believe, with what's really important from each section and some other important comments). If the information is not already in the article, please, don't forget to cite a source.--ClaudioMB 07:14, 8 October 2007 (UTC)Reply

Competition matches discussion: facts from opponent team edit

Now, the report column in the match table shows only Barcelona's facts (goals, cards). There is another report template that also shows the opponent's facts (see bellow). Should be used?

Game

 75' Pablo
 79' Seitaridis

Positions edit

Show = also show opponent's fatcs; Do not show = don't show opponent's facts.

 • Show - Even though it will be more work to add this information, this will allow to know how the match progressed, example: if Barcelona came from behind or if the opponent played with 10 men.--ClaudioMB 16:30, 17 October 2007 (UTC)Reply

How about just putting them in one column, without dividing. E.g. 16' Pernia (yel), '20 Deco (goal), Messi, Ibanez etc. And please note, use CET (Central European Time) as Spain belongs to that zone.

Sorry about the time zone. I think one column will be difficult to know from which team players are, also it will be too long and two columns table is used on all reports in the media (as long as I know).--ClaudioMB 16:44, 18 October 2007 (UTC)Reply
I agree. Bardhylius 12:25, 19 October 2007 (UTC)Reply
When do we implement this? We need to do so as soon as possible so that we don't have to change a lot of matches to the new style. Bardhylius 14:00, 26 October 2007 (UTC)Reply
Show It will be more work, but it is much more useful if all of the stats possible appear (within reason, of course) and I think the version above does it best. I like 2 columns because it separates the information for those who may not know immediately which team the players are from (think about a game between Almeria and Osasuna, not that many people would know which team Felipe Melo plays for? The same could be said for Barcelona and Real Madrid, despite their relative fame. Isaiah 17:22, 26 October 2007 (UTC)Reply

Current position: Change it to show the opponents facts. --ClaudioMB 16:09, 26 October 2007 (UTC)Reply

Copa Catalunya edit

I don't think copa catalunya is worth mentioning here in the stats, because its only friendly competition where most of first teamer didnt even take part.121.44.59.146 04:51, 19 October 2007 (UTC)Reply

Well, it's not a friendly competition for every team. Teams like Espanyol usually try to field their best available players while other smaller teams sometimes treat it more seriously than the league in their respective division. It's the most important trophy in Catalonia, it is already recognized in the main article and it should be recognized here. Bardhylius 12:27, 19 October 2007 (UTC)Reply
It's not friendly at all. Copa Catalunya is administrated by Catalonia Football Federation. Even though Barcelona mostly use players from FC Barcelona B, they show Copa Catalunya's trophies among other competition ones.--ClaudioMB 22:54, 19 October 2007 (UTC)Reply

FCBarcelona.cat edit

I've changed all references and sources to show FCBarcelona.cat. I believe it's good to show as much as possible to readers were FC Barcelona is from and an attention to their culture. Should we keep this way from now on? --ClaudioMB 00:58, 28 October 2007 (UTC)Reply

Most frequent start - pitch view edit

I've added a pitch view for the Most frequent start. Should we keep it? Any suggestion how to improve it?--ClaudioMB 02:08, 28 October 2007 (UTC)Reply
