Merger edit

There is currently a separate article for the 464th Fighter Squadron, the original designation for this unit and one that it held for only a year and a half.

Neither of the other two squadrons in the 507th Fighter Group have separate articles for their old designations. The 463d is at 198th Airlift Squadron ahd the 465th is at 465th Air Refueling Squadron.
The material in the second article does nothing but repeat what is in this article, it says nothing in addition.
WP:MILMOS#UNITNAME states that when a unit has had multiple names over the course of its existence, the title should generally be the last name used. The exception for cases where the subject is clearly more commonly known by one of the previous names does not apply.
The combined article (actually nothing would be added to this article as a result of the merger) would not be overly long, requiring a split based on size. --Lineagegeek (talk) 00:00, 8 September 2015 (UTC)Reply
