Talk:1984 United States presidential debates

Wrong title edit

This article is titled "United States presidential debates" but is really about the VICE Presidential debates and there seems to be no article about the actual Presidential debates 03:09, 27 November 2019‎ User:2600:1700:ca10:18a0:9963:3566:8daf:fe5

POV Dispute/ needs complete rewrite edit

This article gives plenty of quotes from Ms Ferraro. If it is to be left as it is, it should be retitled "Geraldine Ferraro in the 1984 Vice Presidential Debate". InFairness (talk) 06:57, 21 February 2008 (UTC)Reply

Yes- this is not an article about the debate, it is skewed, non-encyclopedic and POV. I removed the overly long quotes which do not belong here and which had been copied verbatim to Geraldine Ferraro where they are no longer either. This article has be completely rewritten or deleted. It should not be deleted. However, it should be changed to have more information about George Bush. J'onn J'onzz (talk) 14:12, 5 October 2008 (UTC)Reply

Ideally I think this should be renamed/expanded to United States presidential election debates, 1984 and cover the Reagan-Mondale debates as well, which were more important. As for the coverage of the veep debate, I've made some corrections/additions based on work I was doing anyway for the Geraldine Ferraro article, but otherwise haven't tried to improve it. So yes, this article is still Ferraro-centric and lacks GHWB coverage. Wasted Time R (talk) 14:34, 5 October 2008 (UTC)Reply

removing POV tag with no active discussion per Template:POV edit

I've removed an old neutrality tag from this page that appears to have no active discussion per the instructions at Template:POV:

This template is not meant to be a permanent resident on any article. Remove this template whenever:
  1. There is consensus on the talkpage or the NPOV Noticeboard that the issue has been resolved
  2. It is not clear what the neutrality issue is, and no satisfactory explanation has been given
  3. In the absence of any discussion, or if the discussion has become dormant.

Since there's no evidence of ongoing discussion, I'm removing the tag for now. If discussion is continuing and I've failed to see it, however, please feel free to restore the template and continue to address the issues. Thanks to everybody working on this one! -- Khazar2 (talk) 01:31, 22 June 2013 (UTC)Reply

There were 4 moderators in the second debate edit

The article forgets to mention Henry Trewhitt, the journalist who asked President Reagan the famous age question. 62.226.84.78 (talk) 00:37, 18 July 2023 (UTC)Reply
