Why was Robert Hunter (leader of a minority party) elected Speaker of the House? This needs to be explained: it is somewhat confusing as it is. 70.61.54.235 March 11, 2013‎

No Recorded Votes for Anti-Masonic or Conservative Parties

So I've been pulling my popular vote totals from Michael Dubin's United States Congressional Elections, 1788-1997, and for the elections within this section I found no recorded votes for the Ant-Masonic Party, and (224) votes for a single Conservative candidate in Maine. Unless there was some sort of coalition between them and the Whigs that isn't immediately apparent.... --Ariostos (talk) 08:37, 20 May 2020 (UTC)

Why no anti masons or constervatives

Don't tell me it is about vote totals, records for popular vote were always getting lost back then. https://history.house.gov/Institution/Party-Divisions/Party-Divisions/ says that anti masons and conservatives won, and they are a .gov.
