Syed Wahidul Alam

Syed Wahidul Alam (Bengali: সৈয়দ ওয়াহিদুল আলম) is a Bangladesh Nationalist Party politician & a former Member of Parliament from Chittagong-5.[1]

CareerEdit

Alam was a member of the pro-Pakistani Al-Shams paramilitary unit during the Bangladesh Liberation war in 1971.[2] He is the former Member of Parliament for Chittagong-5 (Hathazari).[3] He served from 1991 to 2006.[4] He was also the whip of the parliament.[5]

Personal lifeEdit

Alam has a daughter, Shakila Farzana, she is a barrister. She was arrested on 18 August 2015 on charges of financing the terrorist group, Shaheed Hamza Brigade.[6][7]
