Stephen Mizell was born on June 16, 1967, in Washington, North Carolina. He has been married to Barbara Mizell for 19 years, and together they have four children and four grandchildren.

In addition to his pastoral duties, Mizell is an entrepreneur and the owner of Mizell Liquidation Group, Inc., a business specializing in liquidation services for the foodservice and retail industries.[2]

He is also associated with John C. Maxwell EQUIP [1]organization, where he works as a trainer, and is a founding member of the John C. Maxwell Team.[2] In this capacity, Mizell is a certified trainer, speaker, and coach, providing leadership training through the global John Maxwell Group.[3]
