Sanjeev Kumar (politician born 1979)

Sanjeev Kumar (born 8 November 1979) is an Indian politician and a member of Legislative Assembly, Bihar of India. He represents the 151-Parbatta[1] constituency in Khagaria district of Bihar. He is a member of the Janata Dal (United).[2]

Personal life edit

Sanjeev Kumar was born on 8 November 1979 Patna, Bihar. His father Shri Ramanand Prasad Singh was 5 term MLA from Patbatta and Transport Minister of Bihar in Nitish Kumar government.[3][4]

Political career edit

Kumar has been active in politics since 2005, He won his first election as a MLA in the 2020 Parbatta Assembly constituency. He defeated his close contestant Digambar Prasad Tiwary from Rashtriya Janata Dal.[5]

After the Sultanganj-Aguwani ghat bridge over river Ganga collapsed on June 4 2023[6] in Bihar's Khagaria district, the ruling Janata Dal(U) MLA from Parbatta Assembly constituency Sanjeev Kumar held the head of the State Road Construction Department (Government of Bihar) responsible for the incident. He also said that he already raised his concern about Sultanganj-Aguwani ghat bridge with chief minister Nitish Kumar and Deputy Chief Minister Tejashwi Yadav.[7][8]
