King was born in Waterperry near Oxford.[2]

In 2023, she was invited to Japan to represent Australia in the annual World All-star Jockeys . She won her first race in Japan by winning the first leg of the race with Dover Hawk, and ultimately finished second, which was the highest a female jockey achieved in the race.[3][4][5]
In 2024, King returned to Japan after applying the short-term license, with the duration lasting from January 6 and March 5, and her guarantor trainer being Noriyuki Hori and guarantor owner being Danox.[1] On January 21, King won the American Jockey Club Cup with Chuck Nate , making her the first foreign female jockey to win a flat race in Japan, as well as her first graded race victory in Japan.[Note 1][6][7][8] On February 4, King once again won a graded race, this time the Tokyo Shimbun Hai with Sakura Toujours , where she placed the horse in 6th place along the rail before passing through the horses and finishing first.[9] As a result, King became the first female jockey ever to win 2 JRA graded races.[9]
