Highlighting edit

I propose optionally highlighting with a yellow background "On this day" entries which appear in the Wikipedia list of events for the given day. For example, Luna 9's landing appears at February 3, so I have highlighted it in Portal:Spaceflight/On This Day/3 February. Presumably these are the "important" events of the day. (If an important spaceflight event doesn't appear in the Wikipedia list, we should add it there!) Comments? (sdsds - talk) 22:34, 3 February 2008 (UTC)Reply

  • Oppose - It is a good idea in theory, but in practice it will never work. Firstly, very few visitors will know what the meaning of the coloured background is, and are unlikely to investigate it, secondly it will be listed on the main page anyway, so it is not really neccisary to point it out, and thirdly, the selection process for the main page seems quite arbitary, so some important events, manned launches, for example, may be omitted simply because there are other, non-space related, events on the same day which require main page coverage. --GW_SimulationsUser Page | Talk 23:40, 4 February 2008 (UTC)Reply
