Recent news
The "recent news" section pulls stories from WikiNews that are added to the Hampshire category on that project. The problem is, WikiNews seems to be almost dead, certainly as far as regional UK news stories are concerned. Having contributed a bit there I'm not very surprised - every news story has to be reviewed before it's published so much of the benefit of being a wiki is lost, but perhaps that's a discussion for another place and time. Anyway, the stories displayed are several years out of date - the most recent one relates to the Eastleigh by-election, 2013. I'd love to see more up to date news stories there but as things stand I'm minded to remove that section from the portal. Any thoughts? WaggersTALK 10:27, 14 September 2016 (UTC)
