The Free Territory, Makhnowia, or Anarchist Ukraine (January 1919 - 1921) was a stateless territory and anarchist society in part of the territory of modern Ukraine during the Ukrainian Revolution, eventually headed by Nestor Makhno (pictured). The Makhnovists claimed to have established an anarchist society run by the peasants and workers in what they controlled of Ukraine.
