Neelkamal Singh Kushwaha is an Indian singer and actor, who is primarily known for his work in Bhojpuri Film Industry. He is a well established singer in the Bhojpuri music industry, and is known for his music albums.[1] His new song maroon color sadiya became one of the famous song all across the country.Singh is known for his sad songs in Bhojpuri music industry; in December 2022, his song Judai is said to have gained more viewership, leaving behind the Lal Ghagra of Pawan Singh for a long period of time after release, which led to his inclusion among the notable Bhojpuri singers of the industry.[2][3] A resident of Buxar, Bihar, Singh started his career in 2003. He was one of the participant in the music reality show Sur Sangram, where he was eliminated after reaching in top four. Few years after becoming a part of Bhojpuri music industry, his songs started crossing hundred million views. According to media reports, his networth is somewhere around 140 million.[4][5][6] He releases most of his music videos on his official YouTube channel, and in most of his songs, Bhojpuri artist Shristi Uttrakhandi appears to his opposite.[7]

Musical career edit

Singh has worked with several Bhojpuri artists and besides making music albums, he has himself acted in a number of music videos and movies. In 2021, he, along with Bhojpuri singer Priyanka Singh recorded Ja Ab Palat Ke Dekhab Na song. In this song, he worked with Bhojpuri actress Kajal Raghwani. This song crossed fifty million views on YouTube.[8] In the same year, he also recorded his music video Ketna Ke Khush Karbu featuring Trisha Kar Madhu.[9] He has also worked with actress Sanjana Mishra in Heroine song in 2023. In the same year, Singh had earlier released Holi me maja Milab na poora song, in which he was featured with Shristi Uttrakhandi.[10]

In 2022, he recorded Kamayi Bahaela Pani Me song, in which he appeared along with actress Zoya Khan. This song was sung by Singh with Shilpi Raj, and Ashutosh Tiwari was the music director.[11] With Shristi Uttrakhandi, he recorded numerous other songs like Sardi Se Kaptani (2021),[12] Bagalwali (2021),[13] Jan Tohar Mammi Kasam (2021),[14] Kakari Ke Bhatiya (2022),[15] Du Du Go Marad (2022),[16] Mela Aai Jija Bahre Bahre (2022),[17] Kabo Khushi Kabo Gam Di (2022),[18] Chhot Lage Devara (2023),[19] Holi Me Gor Laage Devara (2023).[20]

In 2023, Singh released Lebu Ka Debu song, in which he worked with Shweta Sharma.[21] Singh also appears frequently in devotional song. In 2023, he recorded 'Kalsha Diyariya Lele Aayi' song with Bhojpuri singer Shiwani Singh, which was based on Navrati festival of Bihar.[22] Singh also appeared with Namrata Malla in Jawani Kya Achar Dalogi 2.0 (2023) music video. This song was written by lyricist Ashutosh Tiwari. Within six-day after its release, this song crossed over five million views on YouTube.[23]

Singh is known in Bhojpuri music industry for his sad songs. In 2021, he released his song Hoi Pyar Na Dobara with Aadishakti Films. This song was liked by the viewers and within few hours of its release, it was viewed by millions. It was reported that, this song succeeded his another song Pyar Me Bapwa Diwar Bhail Ba.[24]

In 2023, in the beginning of year, Singh released three songs in sequence, which according to media reports were included in one of the trending songs of Bhojpuri music industry for the time being. These songs were, Beer Se Nahail Goriya (sung by Singh with Bhojpuri singer Anupama Yadav), Dhokebaj and Janaja.[25] Some of the songs of Singh has been included in '200 million club', in terms of viewership as well. This includes, Laika Tohre Ke Papa Kahata, released in 2021, in which he was featured with Trisha Kar Madhu. Earlier, Madhu came into limelight after her personal videos went viral. This song was written by Ashutosh Tiwari.[26][27]

Singh has also worked with Bhojpuri actress Saba Khan. They were seen together in music video Badmash Bade Hamar Hokhewala Jija[28] and Mohabbat Pe Bhari Naukri Sarkari.[29]

Neelkamal Singh, the acclaimed singer and actor, is back in the spotlight with his latest track, "Paisa Na Kaudi Bazaar Kare Chhori."[30]

Personal life edit

Singh was born in a Kushwaha family of Buxar district of Bihar. His whole family resides in Bihar. He is a graduate.[6] In various media reports, it is reported that he is dating Shristi Uttrakhandi, who frequently appears in his music albums.[31]

Controversies edit

In 2021, Singh was embroiled in a controversy, when he reportedly sung a vulgar song, which went viral. In this song, Singh is said to have commented on Bhojpuri actress Akshara Singh. Akshara took to social media to reply Singh for this song.[32] Later, Akshara filed a case on Singh in Kankarbagh Police Station, Patna.[33]
