Mykyta Ruslanovych Poturayev (Ukrainian: Микита Русланович Потураєв; born on 4 September 1970), is a Ukrainian politician, and former political and media consulting commentator who is currently serving as the member of the Verkhovna Rada since 29 August 2019.

He is the chairman of the Verkhovna Rada Committee on Humanitarian and Information Policy since 17 June 2020.

Mykyta Poturayev was born in Dnipro on 4 September 1970.[3]

He is the grandson of the Soviet Ukrainian mechanical scientist, academician of the Academy of Sciences of the Ukrainian SSR, Valentyn Nikitovych (on his mother's side). He is the son of the Ukrainian mechanical scientist Ruslan Palladyovych.

Since 1990, he has been in the youth editorial office of the Dnipropetrovsk regional television and radio company.

Since 1992, he has been the editor of the "Videofilm" technical department of the Dnipropetrovsk ODTRK. In the same year, he graduated from the philological faculty of the Dnipro National University, majoring in English language and literature. He is a candidate of political sciences.

From 1993 to 1994, he had been the editor of the newsroom, head. Department of Program Economics, Dnipropetrovsk City Television Studio.

1994–1995 to Deputy Head of the Media Relations Department, Dnipropetrovsk Business Center "Cominfo".

From 1995 to 1996, he wasachief editor of the information editorial office, chief editor of the editorial office of programs commissioned by UT-1, TV company "Privat TV Dnipro".

From 1996 to 1997, he became the teacher, teacher of the Department of Journalism, Faculty of Systems and Mass Media and Communication, Dnipropetrovsk State University.

From 1997 to 1998 — Head of the Department of Public Relations, FPK "Unified Energy Systems of Ukraine".

In 1998, he became the Head of political and election projects, Center for Promotion of Local Self-Government Development and Public Relations "Third Sector".

From 1998 to 1999, he became the manager and producer of projects, Advertising and Information Agency "Institute of Information".

From 1999 to 2000, he's a graduation editor, author and presenter of programs, TV company "Street TV".

He is a co-founder of the public organization "Quantum Future Lab". He worked in management positions in the media holding Stalight Media, was the director of Focus Media. From 2000 to 2001, he was the first deputy chairman of the National Council of Ukraine on Television and Radio Broadcasting.[4]

In the beginning of 2019, was an advisor to President Zelensky on political issues.[5]

Poturayev was a candidate for People's Deputies from the Servant of the People party, elected in 2019, No. 97 on the list. At the time of the elections, he was the director of Focus Media LLC, and independent, and lived in Dnipro.[6]

On 29 August 2019, Poturayev became the Deputy Chairman of the Committee on Humanitarian and Information Policy, while he was the Chairman of the Subcommittee on Information Policy.

He is the chairman of the Verkhovna Rada Committee on Humanitarian and Information Policy since 17 June 2020.

In 2015, in Surkov's hacked correspondence with the Russian agency, Poturayev appears as an "entry point" - a person who can be of interest to the Kremlin and promote Russian interests in Ukraine, it is indicated that preliminary conversations were held with him about the problem of a pro-Russian position in Ukraine, and this topic aroused his interest, he is interested in cooperation and is ready to propose ideas and projects.[7]

As the head of the Committee on Humanitarian and Information Policy, Poturayev repeatedly distinguished himself by promoting anti-Ukrainian initiatives.[8][9][10]

Personal life edit

On 2 November 2021, he declared the purchase of a Subaru Forester car for 1.1 million hryvnias.[11]
