Maarten Vincent Paes (born 14 May 1998) is a Dutch professional footballer who currently plays as a goalkeeper for Major League Soccer club FC Dallas.

In the 2017–18 season, Paes served as a backup goalkeeper to Joris Delle at NEC[3]
Utrecht edit
On 4 April 2018, Paes signed with Utrecht on a three-year contract with an option for fourth year.[4] He made his Eredivisie debut for Utrecht on 19 August 2018 against PEC Zwolle.[5]
FC Dallas edit
On 20 January 2022, Paes joined MLS side FC Dallas on a six-month loan.[6] On 24 June 2022, Dallas exercised the option to make the transfer permanent.[7]
International career edit
Paes was a member of the Netherlands U19 squads for both 2016 UEFA European Under-19 Championship and 2017 UEFA European Under-19 Championship, but did not appear in any games, serving as backup to Yanick van Osch and Justin Bijlow respectively.
Personal life edit
Paes is eligible to play for the Netherlands, the country of his birth, or Indonesia, because of his grandmother who was born in Kediri, East Java.[8]
On 8 March 2024, FC Dallas announced Maarten Paes, Alan Velasco, and Tsiki Ntsabeleng have obtained U.S. Green Cards, granting them permanent resident status in the United States.[9] On 30 April 2024, Paes officially acquired Indonesian citizenship.[10][11]
