History edit

In August 1891 the Kings County Inter-Club Association was formed,[1] it later became known as the Terrace-Kings County Tennis Association.[3] The Kings County Inter-Club Association originally consisted of the Alitora Club, Brooklyn Tennis Club, Crescent Athletic Club, Kings County Tennis Club (founded 1886) and the Knickerbocker Field Club.[1][4] In 1917 the event was moved to a permanent home at the Terrace Club, Flatbush, Brooklyn.[5] The tournament was staged annually usually in June until the early 1940s when it was discontinued due to World War II.[2][6]
