Jim Desmond, 58, is an American politician and served as the Mayor of San Marcos, California. Desmond was elected Mayor in 2006 and re-elected in 2010 and 2014 without opposition.[1] A veteran of the U.S. Navy, Desmond served as Mayor while concurrently working as a pilot for Delta Air Lines since 1986. In 2018 he was elected to the San Diego County Board of Supervisors.

Desmond is married to his wife and has two children, both of whom graduated from UC universities in California.[2][3][4]

He has been part of the Kiwanis club.
